Hang Cleans

After messing around with hang cleans/hang clean and presses, I finally asked my PLer to show me how to do them the right way. OMG! I love them! I'm doing the whole drop into a front squat and explosive press thing, and I must say, this is the most fun I've had in the gym in a while. Can't wait till he teaches me proper form for cleaning from the ground. :-)

You just feel like you own the world while holding a weight over your head...especially when you hear your OL shoes POP the ground :)

After I learn the clean from the ground, next up is the snatch. That basically describes my summer training goals. :-)

Plus I'm gonna get back to DLing 315 for 4s - if it kills me. As soon as this comp is over, the real work begins...

heh, i have a funny story that just happened to me this morning. i was doing smoe hang cleans with straps ( ye ye ). Slapped on 205 and on the eigth rep i dropped it and bam, i went right with it. Loud ass crash noise i got off the bar to see the guy run over to me and ask if i was alright. replied ye, i just dropped it, im fine. I dont think he realised what actually happened.

got any good links to learning the olympic lifts? I borrowed a book that Nate gave me and have the ExRx website. JJ, I agree, this stuff is so much fun! Feels really good and when I'm done, I'm drenched with sweat (which is always a bonus for me).

if you can hang clean, cleaning from the ground will be a breeze. the hardest part IMO is from the second pull to the rack. the most is going on there. deadlifting (the first pull) is the easy part. :)
