I love a good burger, especially from one of the new burger chains I found locally. They have a trick to make them tastier and its because the buns have a sweet roll taste. yum. love the feel and the squish of the bread..but its not on the home cooked menu.
My partner is far more dedicated than I am, so I am meticulous with the food I prepare for him. I like hamburgers with the bun, but I've switched up the home recipe to be a burger flattened to about 1/2 inch thick. Its almost a mini pizza size and it takes some skill to flip it without breaking it to bits. One careful flip and 2 minutes later it will be cooked. I like to sprinkle shredded cheese while the 2nd side is cooking and then transfer it to the plate.
I've heard romaine is the quality lettuce and iceburg is a complete nutritional zero, so I shred a small amount of romaine, maybe one stalk and sprinkle it on top of my burger. that adds a tiny bit of moisture and crunch. Use a little mayo or mustard, ketchup for your condiment if you must and its as healthy as you can get.
