Half Life Questions

visions

New member
Can someone please explain what this means to me?

"These drugs have longer half-lives than most other AAS, so this should be considered when timing your post cycle clomid use. Here they are:

Deca: 15 days Equipoise: 14 days Primobolan: 10.5 days

Anavar has a half-life of only 8 hours so it should not pose a problem"

Thanks so much, sorry if these seems like a dumb question.

Drug half-life is a simple concept. If a drug has a half-life of 10 days, and you start with 100mg in your system:

In 10 days, there will be only 50mg remaining in your system.
In another 10 days, there will be only 25mg remaining in your system.
In another 10 days, there will be only 12.5mg remaining in your system.
and so on ...

if you are asking when to start pct...deca is your longest acting ester and i would start pct 3 weeks after your last shot... and run it for 2-4 weeks

Cool thanks, so how does that translate into post cycle recovery use?

You want to start PCT around the time that your body's androgen levels approach the non-cycle levels. That way, your body never reaches a 'low androgen' state and theoretically you can retain more of your gains from your cycle.

Some drugs (eg. deca, eq, test enanthate etc.) have long half-lives. That is, their levels don't decrease very fast in the body, so it takes a long time for the levels to drop below your body's natural androgen levels. Other drugs (eg. dbol, anavar, test prop, suspension etc.) have very short half lives.

So, if you take these fast or short half-life drugs for a long time, your body's natural (endogenous) androgen production drops to nothing and if you start your PCT late, you will go through a period where your androgen levels are much lower than they would be in a natural state.

Remember, PCT is basically there to ensure your natural androgen levels come back to normal in the quickest time possible. If you start your PCT too early (ie. when using long half-life drugs), then you may have too much androgen in your system, even at the end of PCT and your body will become supressed. If you start too late (ie. when using short half-life drugs), then you may crash hard because there will be a period where your androgen levels are perilously low.

Hope this helps,

Tholdren
