Hair loss!!!

My hair is thinning from years of test and receeding a bit... I need some real advice, not take propecia! What are my options??? I have been off for 4 years now but I do occasionally hit a GH kit which seems to help with thickness only while im on. Help!

Actually Rogain is very, very cheap. 10 bucks these days for a months supply. It will not most probably grow you any hair, but it will stop your hair from falling out and getting any worse.

I speak from experience. I started using it when it was still a prescription, about 10 yrs. or more ago. I used to pay $45.00 a month for it.

Anyway, it stopped my hair loss dead in its tracks...I have 10+ yrs. to prove it. Simple, takes a minute to use.

Make sure your B vitamin intake is adequate also.

How do you take rogain? Will it f with my sexual drive? and what B vitamins should I take and how much? I am a 235lbs professional boxer. Thanks for the help cuz

I again can speak from experience, trust me, Rogaine has had absolutely no effect on my sex life!

I would suggest a good B100 complex.....the B complex group of vitamins work with each other, it is worth making sure that they are taken at the same time to work best synergistically.

Does hair loss run in the family? From what I know, Test only speeds up an already pre existing hair loss condition. My grandfather died with a full head of hair on his head and my father still has all his hair but I still take Nizoral shampoo a few times a week just to be safe and I'm not on anything at all. Have you tried this? Nioxin shampoo, cleanser and activator is also for thininng hair and has some herbals that are supposed to stimulate blood flow to the scalp. Haven't heard anything about it, but it might worth a try. You'd think by 2006 they would have a prescription for hair loss by now. I imagine this would make the drug companies fortunes.

Dude I totally agree and thanks for the post. Yeah thinning i guess runs in the family not balding though, my shit is thin as hell not bald tho. Its not realy healthy or strong. Where can I get the shampoo over the counter?

Propecia (or any finasteride product) will HALT loss or further recession.

Like Alex said, try and use Nizoral every other or every 3 days to cleanse the scalp.

I use Nioxin products and can tell you they do not do anything special besides cleanse the scalp nicely.
BTW, hairloss comes from your mother's side of the family.

Good to know about the Nioxin products. And about hair loss coming from the mother's side. Never knew that. (Everyone has a full head of hair on my mother's side too. Knock on wood.)

Interesting topic. Walk into any health food store and there's a thousand different supposed hair loss "formulas". I'm sure if any of them worked it would be widely publicized by now. Dan Duchaine mentioned topical standardized Saw Palmetto berry extract applied directly to the scalp to stop hair loss. Not sure if anyone has tried it. And there's the shen min formulas that have been around for years:
