Hack variation + Squats= No Bowel movement!!

Well, my partner comes over Friday for what was slated to be a subdued leg/ tri workout. Lately we have been starting w/ hack squats largely because my partner has a messed up shoulder and cant get his hand back enough to do squats.

This time however, I remembered back in high school when I played football that we used to to power thrusts which essentially is when you face down on the hack machine. Grabbing on to the sled and thrusting forward as if you were attempting to launch someone 20 ft in the air.

We ended up loading the sled w/ 6 plates a side. It was incredible. I looked at the plane my partner was travelling during the movement and it was the closest form I have seen to squats on any movement I have ever done. Not only did I get a better pump than traditional hacks but much better than leg presses as well.

When I got to squats after I was only able to get 375 for 5 reps before I collapsed in a heap. Polished everything off w/ heavy leg extensions and that was it. 45 min and we destroyed our legs. For any of you that have access to a hack I recommend doing this. It is a truely primal movement and one that is intense beyond words. Good luck.

i used to do those in high school and really liked them.

trouble is every hack squat machine i was ever on during the 4 years after i graduated when i was bodybuilding, my knees would hit the sled on the way down, and i could only do a quater squat.

good work though.

I guess it depends on the sled. the one at the gym I go to in NYC hits my knees to early. My home Hack is different in that when my knees touch the sled Im at parallel. Very cool movement though. Glad too see someone else has tried them.
