I may be a rare case but I eat whatever I want now, work out less and can barely tell the difference between when I was in prime shape eat strictly and now. I probably burn just as many calories throughout the day though too, so that's basically what it's about right there.

yes you are a rare case. i need to take fuckin gh - growth hormone (somatropin) - half the year round to accomplish that...or run t3 like it's going out of style.
it didn't take me very long at all to get fat(for me) doing what you just described. and it's taking 2x as long to get rid of it.
I ate a good bit sushi last night(prolly a little too much soy sauce) and had 1 large hot sake and i woke up bloated like a fish. looked like complete crap
