Do you think that starting using AS at that age- 20-23 mainly- affected your shoulder width? I know that early use can stunt vertical height but was wondering if it would significantly affect shoulder width and rib cage size? Did you guys get wider(from bone growth not muscle growth) after you started using? IF so what did you use(non-aromatizing AS(primo, winny, oxandrolone) vs. aromatizing(test, deca, etc..) Im 20 and this is the only thing that keeps me from using anything right now. Thanks

I thought most men were done growing around those ages anyways???

If you're concerned about fusing growth plates too soon, I THINK I read that anavar won't fuse them. Research it to make certain though.

I concur with Fro!!

correct me if i'm wrong but don't the growth plates get sealed mainly by the estrogen? In that case be sure to use an antiestrogen.

I started using at 20 and my shoulders have gotten much wider over the past few months! I am still 20 ....

Never heard that one. Got any proof?

Taken from www.anabolicreview.com
... Oxandrolone is one of the few steroids which does not cause an early stunting of growth in children since it does not prematurely close the epiphysial growth plates...
... Oxandrolone is one of the few steroids which cannot aromatize to estrogen...

ill see if i can find some stuff but i figured that's the main reason. This must be why girls stop growing at a younger age.

I posted this reference on another board recently FWIW. This in no way is intended to address your primary question re: "width." I am simply providing you with an additional reference to help you think this physiological issue through as you consider using at a younger age.

http://www.nsbri.org/HumanPhysSpace/focus6/ep_development.html

Extract:

In long bones, the growth and elongation (lengthening) continue from birth through adolescence. Elongation is achieved by the activity of two cartilage plates, called epiphyseal plates, located between the shaft (the diaphysis) and the heads (epiphyses) of the bones. These plates expand, forming new cells, and increasing the length of the shaft. In this manner, the length of the shaft increases at both ends, and each head of the bone moves progressively apart. As growth proceeds, the thickness of the epiphyseal plates gradually decreases and this bone lengthening process ends. In humans, different bones stop lengthening at different ages, but ossification (bone formation)is fully complete by about age 25. During this lengthening period, the stresses of physical activity result in the strengthening of bone tissue.

No you are right. ;)

I don't think it's caused by estrogen or that it's that simple. If it was, you could just stick your teenager on Liquidex and let him grow to be 7 feet tall.

As with most claims of this nature, you're going to have to back it up.

I was thinking the exact same thing. If you want your kid to play BBall just give him liquidex.

It can't be that simple though.
