Best sources for HIV/AIDS info

I wanted to start a thread where we could all post good HIV/AIDS information sources beyond Elite. Websites, hotlines, News, Doctors, Medical Grant information, anything that we could possibaly benifit from.

I'd like to start off with the:

AIDS Hotline
Website: http://www.ashastd.org/nah/
Phone Number: 1-800-342-AIDS

AIDS Hotline Spanish Service:
Phone Number: 1-800-344-7432

San Francisco AIDS foundation:
Website: http://www.sfaf.org/
Phone Number: 1-800-367-AIDS

Planned Parenthood:
Website: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/sti/
Phone Number: 1-800-230-PLAN
Free HIV/AIDS testing
Note:
You can be tested "confidentially" or "anonymously."
"Confidential testing" means your result will be put in a permanent medical record under your name.
"Anonymous testing" means your name is not used. Some states require clinicians to report the names of those with HIV or AIDS to health officials. You may want counseling before and after testing. If your clinician doesn't offer it, contact one of the resources at the end of this pamphlet.

Came out with a vaccine for aids. Looks like it's the real thing. And Stage III final testing will be done in the fall of 2002. After that it will only be a matter of weeks/months before it hits the market, if the results satisfy the FDA.

The AIDS daily summary...

...is what I use everyday. About 2PM every day, the CDC puts together a summary of the day's HIV/AIDS news and delivers it to your mailbox. It's great! For subscribing, do the following:To join the PreventioNews listserv, send a blank e-mail to [email protected]. Thanks! Alan.

The third edition of 'Built to Survive' is being released in August of this year. I hope they improve the section on freeweight exersice. Thanks!

Houston Buyers Club www.houstonbuyersclub.com has a deal with Gulf South Pharmacy - a compounding pharmcy - for discounts on test cyp and deca.

I pay $30 for 10ml of test cyp @ 100mg/ml. Its mail order so they charge $15 for Fedex so I get my doc to Rx three bottles at a time to save on shipping. Syringes are like 10 cents a piece. Walgreens wanted $119 for a 10ml bottle. Its great for people who's insurance doesn't cover injectables.

ill bump medibolics.com Built to Survive is a great book even for the rec juicer.

The third edition of "Built to Survive" is finally out and, YES, they finally did a better job on advising HIV+ people about workout routines. Michael and Nelsen, it's about time - Thanks to the two of you for beefing up this section in the new edition. In case you're just catching up to this, in the first two versions of this book, they only gave one workout routine for three times a week and you could finish your sets in about 1/2 an hour. Great for a start, but you MUST change your freeweight routine about every six months to a year, or your body gets too used to it and your gains slow dramaticly. In the third edition, they finally admitted that their workout routine they publish is only A START and you should not stay on it for the rest of your life, or your workouts will become stale and your building of lean body mass (which HIV+ people MUST have because AIDS waisting attacts the muscles and not your body fat) will slow dramaticly. I too am at the point that I must change my workout routine from "Built to Survive's" to something else and i'll probally use the help of Nelson Montayna's e-books for a guide (this is NOT a sales pitch.) I'm thinking of moving up from three to five days a week and increase the number of routines I do in the gym to keep me there for 45 minutes to about an hour.

Oh dear, I babbled on again. Oh, well. Thanks! Alan Chiras.

I am currently reading the new book: "Testosterone: A Man's Guide" by Nelson Vergel. It's very good and has a lot of information that I have not known before I read this publication. Available at amazon.com and on iBooks.

All of you should know that the 4TH edition of "Built To Survive" is now out in print and in e-book form. I will review it asap. (_)> Cheers!

While not a professional resource, I offer anyone newly diagnosed or otherwise an ear and someone to talk to via PM. Still playing catch up on the AAS side of it, but I have been poz for 7 years, and realize the only reason I have made it this far is because of people around me to talk. It is great having info at your finger tips, but sometimes someone's personal experience helps you understand or normalize what you are going through. Many people and personal experiences have helped me along the way figure it is payback. The learning curve is steep, but you have to get through it!

High I'm new to this thread and I'm very excited to find it. My question is does everyone on this page deal with HIV/AIDS personally? If that's ok for me to ask.
