Gracie vs. Hughes full video

he took gracie to the ground

side controlled him

put him in a rear naked choke hold

then arm bared him (i think he fucked his arm up)

then pounded him out.

all in 4 minutes.

That's the first UFC match I've ever watched....just never could get into watching men grapple each other. I mean shit they're a layer of clothes away from fucking each other. I swear chics watch this shit mostly cuz you can see their junk practically busting through their shorts when they're on top of each other.
I only believe in fighting for self defense, or at least real competitive fighting like boxing/streetfighting where the grappling, fondling, etc. is discouraged. Never understood why two grown men would like to touch each other so much. Lol at the commentator saying Matt Hughes likes to be on top.

and your saying ufc and the like is not real competitive fighting?

It is if they include a wide variety of fighting styles and not just the grappling/wrestling, although that's still real competitive fighting; just not my bag. I was being a smartass.

it is all styles of fighting, bring what ya got, those two are just grapplers, thats thier style, ufc has alot of strikers and well rounded fighters

Grapplers usually win if they are very good. The striker has to get lucky and land that big blow, once he's on the ground, he's toast. As if this isn't obvious.

It would be awesome to see a grappler pitted against a grizzly bear. Now that I would watch.

I also read a Bruce Lee quote where he said something like, you could take a veteran martial artist who's been training for 10 years or so and square him off against an amateur boxer of 1 year, and the boxer would win, no contest.

Sounds like he was being a smartass. If not, then that really sucks for martial artists who use it for more than show.

dullboy says these guys are the best fighters in the world. literally.

alot of people who don't understand fighting get bored with ultimate fighting because most of the action takes place on the ground tryng to set up submission holds, which is pretty boring to watch if you don't appreciate the techniques being used.

as someone who trained in ju-jitsi for a long time, the thing that dullboy is always most impressed with is the ability of some these guys to take hard shots. remember, they're not wearing 10 ounce boxing gloves. how many times do you see pro boxers get knocked out with 1 shot? it happens with mma too, but it seems like these guys are just tougher.

These guys are just unreal athletes. Thanks Dullboy for posting the vid!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure there's a lot of technique involved, I just don't particularly care to watch it, lol.

OMG... that was a maiming... gracie better not run his mouth off anymore for a while.

Its my house i build it, er i mean get my ass whipped in it.

He might have built it, but Hughes came in and owned it. Gracie's house is now listed as Foreclosure.

BTW - Wasn't Hughes kind of cute looking in that fight? I think so.

Dude it is true. When he smiles he has a cute look to him.

You have to admit that. You better be glad I am not saying Shamrock.

That arm bar looked just brutal. It is amazing to me how calm these guys stay. I would panic if someone had my arm like that. OUCH!

Word the way he mounted that dude was HOT :p

Hughes owned the fight from the second it started, and best of all, he damn well knew it.

Gracie stated he still has a couple fights left in him... umm, trying to save face after getting pounded, eh?

Matt has a bit of a "pretty boy" look. "Handsome" was already taken by another fighter last night (who didn't live up to the name by fight's end, lol).

yo, did you catch a glimpse of gracies elbow, the one that hughes was arm-barring? it had this dark red streak going down it...couldnt be good.

anyone that thinks this isn't as hard to win as a bar fight or a "real world" fight is nutty.

Watch one of these guys get in a fight in a bar. I did and the other fool lost horribly. The average schmoe doesn't know the first thing to do and once they screw up, they are going to get hurt badly

Not an armbar ... it was a kimura sweets.

But, I'm sure if it were a cooking or sewing video you'd understand it.

Kimura is similar to a chicklen wing. The same hold is called different things in different disciples.
It's interesting that Hughes used a Kimura because Royce's dad had his elbow broken using a Kimura once before while fighting Masahiko Kimura who expertise was in Judo. Hence the hold is calleda Kimura

How'd you like your arm bent back like this

Does anyone think this Hughes dude could have beaten Mike Tyson when Mike was in his prime? One power blow without boxing gloves from Mike and it's lights out.

nope, tyson would have bitten his ears off. tournment fighting still has rules. real life there is no rules. if i saw some guy trying to grapple my friend on the ground in a bar, then i would proceed by breaking a fucking stool on his head. of course he wouldn't see it coming because he is too busy trying to get my friend to submit.

You can still find it -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MTdthB6YIk&search=gracie

this is the link for now, but if they break it again, go to that link and search "gracie" (upper right hand box) and the hughes fight will be a few pages down.

so Dullboy trained in ju-jitsi? interesting.

dullboy studied a mma style called iron octopus (IOMASDA) under prof richard sinclair in nyc for almost 5 years. it's mainly ju-jitsu/nin-jitsu.

thanks for fixing the link~!

btw - does anyone know why gracie agreed to to fight @ 175? he looked too weak. isn't his natural weight like 190? dullboy doesn't really follow this stuff too closely anymore, but this fight intrigued him.

You're a ninja? You can disappear in a puff of smoke?

AAP says teach me that trick. AAP says that would come in handy those times AAP winds up at tricks place that has horrible furniture.

Gracie probably couldn't because of the weight/strength difference, but Fedor could.

dullboy says keep quiet or he'll poke you in the eye with his sojutsu.
