holy cow...I was drenched in 20minutes.

Have any of you tried it?

I'd say I'm in pretty good shape right now, I was totally surprised. If I can run on a treadmill @ 15% incline for over 40min...how is it that I was strugling for 20min on the 5th level lol. I don't get it

I usually hit up the stair master for 5-10 minutes before doing leg work. It's a lot tougher than it looks up on the higher levels, for sure.

I did my 12 minutes of cardio.
I'll work my way up to 15 minutes and stop there.
Once it's nice out I just play tennis and I don't have to go on this stupid elliptical.

Cardio sux. Best cardio ever is bout 15 mins on a punching bag.

only 15min? lucky bastid :D
How do you keep it that low if you don't do much cardio?

Give them another month, most likely they'll go back to their old routines.

I usually go first thing @ 5am, a total of 10people.

You're optimistic... I give them another 10 days. If they dont leave I may start causing injuries. I want my gym back.

here's one for ya..

I train a cardio queen.. 56 yrs old.. 184 would be her max hr..

10 min on the stair master hr 160..

then on the spin (which she does 3x week) cycle i have her go til she hits 160 for 30 seconds, then immediately do a wall squat for 30 seconds I'm using a recovery hr of 145 (her normal is 135) and she starts the next set

hr 165 30 seconds and wall squat 30 seconds recovery hr 145 then next set

hr 170 30 seconds and wall squat 30 seconds recovery hr 145 then next set

hr 175 30 seconds and wall squat 30 seconds recovery hr 145 then next set

and that's about it.. takes about 15-20 minutes..

If you can still walk, do low intensity (hr 125 max) for 40 minutes..

= good times..

Early this month, thanks to all the new years resolution types, I was banished to the rarely used summit trainer machines in my gym for cardio. Unaware of anything about the machine, the damn thing was set to the max stride length, which basically had me doing deep lunges (and not helping the matter was I had just worked out legs and glutes). it felt like climbing the steepest, most widely set apart steps on my life. After 20 minutes I felt like i was going to die.

I can rock out on the stairs for 40 minutes at level 12 no problem. It kicks my ass but I can do it. Lately when I run I can only run foe maybe 5 minutes at a time before my shins feel like they're going to explode. Not shin splints, just a pump that's borderline crillping. Could be the EQ, I dunno. I did a spin class Saturday that left me destroyed. I soaked my towel and the floor underneath me. It was a goddamn preggers lady teaching it too.

I did a spin class one time and my sweat puddle travelled over and got the keys wet that for the girl that was on the bike next to me. Think she was happy?

Every since, I almost wrap a towel on my head for that class. I sweat big time.

Stair climbers are brutal. I've tried them, but not lately, and not been part of my routine for years. I have to confess: I always try to set a good example as part of the EF community, but I'm a slacker when it comes to cardio. I do, however, do a lot of outdoor work (farm operations), and our avocados are planted on a STEEP hillside, and the house is at the top of the hill. So I'm always climbing up & down the hill, and it gets my pulse up to a healthy max for at least 10 mins. If I walk out to get the mail, it's a 1/2 mile climb back up, which is a good workout all by itself. Usually I cheat and take a dirt bike or the Rhino, though. Especially on days that end in "Y".

How come no one has said "I could get her there faster than that"?

Nobody could ever confuse you with anyone who has ever done cardio, that's why. Proof is in that AVI :)

LOL..I was thinking the same thing last night....geez it's February...why aren't they gone yet?!?

The problem is that most of them should stay on the cardio for the entire time they are at the gym. Dropping that bf will show them better results than lifting to build the muscle that cant be seen because of the layers of bf anyway.
