Goodmorning Variations : Back By Request (Videos)

Thanks for posting that, spatts.

How do you recommend going about chosing which one to use? Should you use one that you feel comfortable with, or one that works specific weaknesses?

I can deadlift a lot more than I can squat, and I think some GMs could really help me.

Zander, I have found the ones that seem to work for me, but it's been alot of trial and error. Knowing your weakness can help you pick and choose.

I use the "power stance" arched back, bent leg GM's to help my squat, and the 36" chain suspended arched back "power stance" GMs with a safety squat bar to help my sumo deads.

I really like to do the combo squat GM's in a power stance as accessory work for my hips.

The others I mainly use to change the stress now and then when I'm feeling overtrained in another posisition.

My hips continue to be a weak link, so I think I will try the combo squat GMs - like the look of them a lot.

I'll just experiment with the bent/straight leg and straight/arched back combinations until I find one that suits me. The seated GMs also looked interesting, but I don't think they're what I'm after.

The combos are great, with light weight, to really stretch the hips and hamstrings (since it's ATF), but the standing and chain suspended arched/bent varieties, done heavy, will really get your core strong and give you the squat and dead numbers you're looking for.

Archback GMs with slightly bent legs onto toes is recommended by CT for transfer into Olylifts pulling power. A nice loading from calves to bottom of the neck.

I don't particularly GMs myself. Feels like my lower back is gonna snap in half :)
RDLs work better for me.

I'm doing bent leg arched back good mornings, atm (computer in the same room as my gym :D). 88lbs x 8 x 3 sets. I think my form is terrible, so I'm just concentrating on that.

I've chosen this style because that's how I seem to do them naturally :D
