Good news woot!

"The FDA announcement also comes just a day after the agency said it would recommend stronger controls on combination drugs containing hydrocodone, such as Vicodin."

Are they sayin they're tightening controls on any hydrocodone with aspirin (vicodin, norco, etc..), but it'll be less strict on zohydros since there's no aspirin in it?

N. What they're saying is that meds with hydrocodone will have oxycodone like controls. I welcome it.

so instead of bein fukt, pain doctors are actually gonna be makin more money cause their patients will have to make an appointment for every refill then? so how the fuck does that help?

Maybe better assessment of real pain vs addicts with frequent face to face contacts

So FDA approved the more powerful painkiller, even though its own panel voted 11-2 against it.

Here's why they approved it: Hydros are the new health care. It's far cheaper to keep someone stoned on their couch watching TV instead of wanting surgeries or treatments. Hydros shift the cost of care from Medicare and Medicaid and onto families who have to deal with the addict who is left over.

Go Barry go!

A- I have never met anyone addicted to vics before (LOL)....Anyone that plays with pain killers generally opts for Percs not vics and well DUH...That addiction doesn't last long because along comes Heroin to rescue their expensive habit. Sad but true that most heroin addicts admit that they "caught their disease" because purchasing pills got too expensive.

B- Maybe they should make it so that the new drug cannot be snorted?! There is actually quite a few meds out there that if snorted it would take lines upon lines to get to the correct Mg to make you feel high. I don't know...Maybe I am thinking outside of the box here.

shit got approved cuz pharmaceutical companies got the FDA in their back pocket...

It's not about being cheaper, it's about profits. There isn't as much money to be made in curing something as opposed to treating the symptoms.

there will always be shady docs writing unnecessary scripts, and junkies that will sell the pills in order to fund other habits.

Indeed

Yes, pharma does have fda in their back pocket, but pain is a seperate issue. MEDPAC specifically carved-out a pain management category for CMS reimbursement because they saw it as a way to shift cost out of the government.

wtf aren't you using an iPhone?

how dare you

The iPhone is an incredible appliance phone, but it's gotten a little stale for me.

I like all the moving and shaking that Android is trying to do. Android is like the girl who has been overlooked so long that she's going to really put her heart and soul into that blowjob.

Just when I was thinking about switching....

I'm not excited about the phone bloks project. Phones advance in waves, so the idea of doing it piecemeal makes no sense to me.

I also wonder about all the interconnects. High bandwidth needs (i.e. to a video display) means high density interconnects, so I'd guess a lot of space will be wasted just gluing subsystems together. Plus it could raise issues about the water-tightness and durability of the phone.

But it might be a great phone for the developing world.

Humidity is a great concern but seeing how I barely run apps and need minimal storage I'd have an hd display with a bad ass camera, sweet audio and lightning processor with an extra battery. Ohhh yes...

I'm all about the Droid. I answer emails all day on my phone and I can type much faster with fewer mistakes using a physical keyboard.

I could have that shit delivered to me before walgreens could even fill a script if i really wanted.

^^ here too. They go for about $10 a pill on the street. We see kids using them through the ER but like Shanna said....usually switches over to heroin.

my android based galaxy has no such keyboard..I make a million mistakes on it

its one of the few aspects about my blackberry I really really miss..well two thing really. Insane durability..drown it drop it, throw it at something..it kept on going. Keyboard was perfect and I rarely made mistakes on it..but at the time no touch screen, crappy small display in comparison.

My email falls out of synch a lot on my phone now but its over two yrs old.

I wouldn't be able to get Oxys or weed for that matter off the street. Black people scare me.
