Good ideas to keep bowels regular??(besides metamucil shit dont work for me)

Here lately I have been staying backed up and im guessing its due the the lack of fats/and or red meat in my diet. I am 5 weeks out from my show and my diet is extremely clean and I just cannot seem to stay regular even with ample amount of fiber in my diet. Any suggestions that anyone else uses?
 
I purchase bulk psyllium fiber from bulkfoods.com. I then mix 2 teaspoons of psyllium fiber into my whey protein shakes. Works like a charm. Just my .02
 
Does that keep you bloated like that shitty ass metamucil or just regular?
Metamucil is a water soluble fiber whereas psyllium is a bulk forming fiber. It doesn't cause me bloat and it keeps me very regular...like clockwork. If you go this route, don't overdo it, the stuff is VERY effective...LOL!
 
Acidophilus is great for those issues and over all intestine/ organ health you can get it at any health food store it has active good bacteria in it go for the 15 billion unit bottle they also carry 10 billion and 12 billion but the 15 billion is the best it's pretty cheap to under 20$ saved my life when I was having really bad bloating / stomach cramps over all my stomach was fucked this shit works! Go for a digestive enzyme aswell it'll help break down your food and absorb better into your body
 
sounds to me like you could use pro biotics as well.

if you have ever used anti-biotics before you definately should run a round of pro biotics. NTBM has a good one or you can spend more money on pro biotic drinks from a health food store.

coconuts and sulfur free apricots will get your bowels moving, they are natural lax

all of these options steve gave you are excellent...

prune juice is another that will have you in there as well... corn will also... lolllll

these should all be helpful to you though man...
 
Man I wish I was in your situation. I am going way too much, and I am not talking about the healthy types.

Yes I am still taking fish oils, and there is plenty of fiber in my diet. This just started to become a problem about 2 weeks ago and I am tired of having to take laxatives left and right. Maybe the probiotics could be a good choice- definitely couldn't hurt.... and the other dude who said I am not drinking enough water....well I would think 1.5-2gallons should be sufficient
 
do you think that maybe you may be burning off almost all the food that you are taking in? i know in prep mode as i get closer to show time at about 3wks out and i crank up cardio and training a little more as nasty as it sounds i go from going 1-3x a day to once every other day or every 3 days. i dont have any stomach pain or discomfort though and dont feel backed up. just throwing that question out there to you man cause you already got a ton of great advice already

I just cut the cals down 1000 but that was sunday. Went from 3200 to around 2200. But I refeed every 4th day. Im just bloated all the time now it seems. I even took 1mg of arimedex yesterday and today to see if that helps. I mean its crazy Im under 7% at this point in the game but form how I look right now I can barely make my abs out lol. - and my abs are deep with a lot of vascularity to them. lol Im done stressing about it. then again maybe a lot of it is stress where Im getting so close. and the diet has been taking its toll on me along with double cardio every day. who knows?? thanks guys for all the replies as I really do appreciate it.
 
Look up a product called slim to none. Its an all natural colon cleanse product and the main ingredient pulls water to your colon. This in turn will, simply put, cause u to go.
