holy crap that is amazing. if i wasnt already addicted enough as it is to the internet, i'd do it.

http://www.gateway.com/home/products/ret/ret_MX6426.shtml

this is the puter i got today at best buy and it was only 549
also it has free upgrade to vista all i have to do is mail in a copy of my receipt and another piece of receipt they gave me and microsoft sends me a copy in january
never had a laptop before, this is kinda neat

Not that I know anything about laptops as I only build desktops, but the processor in the first one is kind of meh... go for the core 2 duo.

it's $749 bro, not $549. unless best buy has it cheaper in the store. which is odd a physical store is cheaper than online.

that was a very good deal.
how early did you have to get in line for it?
i got in line 5 hours before, in a small town, and even that wasnt enough.

Rainchecks are when they run out of a certain item on sale, and you get a voucher to get one at the same price once they restock. Even if the sale dates are over.

The Ad had said all over it that this was an IN STORE ONLY item
We got up at 5 am and went to Bestbuy.com website and just kept clicking around and somehow had it ordered online and shipped to the house.
