Golf...ugh, I just can't get into it

Sitting here channel surfing watching some of the Masters on ESPN. Don't know what it is about golf, other than the fact that I suck at it, lol... but I think I'd rather sit around & watch paint dry. I also know that I'm in the minority here & it's the hottest sport these days but geezus, it's boring as hell. I love most all other sports, but golf is definitely on the bottom of my list. Anybody else feel like I do?

No. I wish I weren't here at work so I could watch the Masters. Did you see that eagle from the fairway when the flag wasn't visible? That was fucking awesome.

I really find other sports boring. Soccer, Football, Tennis, and Baseball are on the top of my list.

Soccer: Pass the ball around for half an hour and make an honest attempt at a goal maybe a dozen times in the whole game.
Football: Bad passes are missed, good passes are dropped. The last Superbowl was painful to watch.
Tennis: back. forth. back. forth. back. forth. back. forth. back. forth.
Baseball: rofl. don't get me started.

Golf is different... every shot is a new shot. No two are alike. A million things can happen... and a mere 4 foot putt could kick your ass.

Greatest game ever

Warik - I agree with you on soccer. I didn't know anything about that sport until both of my kids started playing it. With that one I gotta keep my mouth shut & just go with the flow. Shit, they've been playing for 5-6 yrs now & I still don't know half of the damn rules! lol The few times that I played golf with my brothers-in-law it took ~5 hrs to play, was hotter than hell, & usually ended up so pissed off from hardly even being able to hit the ball that I was ready to destroy any & every club I could get my hands on. It might be fun for you guys but for me it's the pits.

I used to play. Did you know that it is illegal to pass the ball to a teammate on the opponent's side of the field if there is not an opposing defender between you and the goal?

It's also illegal for someone throwing the ball back into bounds to lift his rear foot off the ground.

Though, the gayness of those rules can't possibly compare to the gayness of the pass interference rule in football. Hello! Isn't the whole point of playing defense to interfere with your opponent's attempts to catch the ball?

At least all the rules in golf make sense... especially the rule that says it's illegal to agree to break the rules. =)

I play it and enjoy playing it, but i don't care to watch it.

Some sports are made for TV......i don't think golf is one of them.

I had to watch about an hour of the Masters tonight because my friend that cooked me dinner is addicted to golf. He brought a TV into the room so he wouldn't miss anything but could still eat at the table. It was pretty bad. But I learned some stuff about golf. I still think it's boring, but I learned about it.
