That gave me the chills!! I think it is awesome how are firefighters and policemen are willing to risk their lives in order to help those victims..they even had construction workers volunteering to help.....that picture speaks a thousand words!

i was listening to a man recount the event, he was on the 64th floor and got out. when they got to the 40th, the firefighters were on their way up to help save lives.

just as he reached the mezzanine level, he saw the antenna start to dissappear and the building was collapsing. He lived, so many firefigthers, and others, obviously did not.

The firefighters, police, everyone are true angels

While I was doing cardio @ the gym I was watching the news and they said 5 firefighters were discovered a little while ago...after they pulled away some of the debris...all are fine and alive!!! Been trapped since tuesday! Finally some good news and brings a little more hope that there are others alive as well!

spatterson, that is an excellent piece and exactly how I feel about our home. Funny, weeks ago, I was just talking to someone about how we sometime balk and cry out in frustration over things that occur here, but one thing I've learned is there is no country greater than ours. That no matter what we believe is wrong, the reality is we are a spoiled and pampered nation and that being poor means having a smaller screen tv. I told them going to any foriegn country propels me to kiss the ground when I come home because when it comes right down to it . I love my country there is nowhere I'd rather be. And when I was younger I would never have believed it would be me speaking in that patriotic tone and now I feel it more than ever. I am a Black American and there is no injustice to which I cannot prevail.
