Ok I am single right now and today I got a phone number from a girl I go to college with that is way out of my league. She's smoking. The phone number was just to help her with homework, I know she doesnt like me - we seem to have alot in common and I know she just broke up with her bf. I was contemplating calling her as I know nobody likes to be alone on v-day... But I didn't. Should I just forget about the crush on her and be homework helper?

Be friends, it's a good thing. If the attraction is there now, it will be there later, maybe get stronger as you get to know eachother better... make sense?
 
Help her with the homework, but add a little charm (just a little, mind you) and see how she reacts. If she ignores your gentle flirts then stick to the homework. If she just broke up with the BF I'm guessing that the last thing she wants right now is another relationship... rebound sex, maybe. :)
 
Why is she out of your league? Just because she may be more attactive than you doesn't mean she's looking for Brad Pitt. You see attractive women with average joes everyday and vice versa. Having things in common and enjoying each other's company is more important.
 
No lie how many times have you seen hot girls with guys that make you go wtf is she doing with him??? It isn't all about the looks bro, not that it doesn't help some though lol. But even with girls, beauty only goes so far. I can't hang out for long with a hot stupid boring woman. She has to have some substance.

I would have to agree with everyone that has posted already.... but just want to add that people will always be out "your league" if you keep that attitude. If you think like a loser, you'll be a loser.

Get to know her first and don't hold her to such a high caliber simply because she is superficially pretty.
 
if she gave you her number and is asking for your help she has some bit of trust in you which is very important to any relationship, furture or present. I suggest you don't violate that in any way,and if things move further than great.
