Getting big bellied from eating so much...

Having trouble with a growing stomach from eating so damn much..

Is this down to my diet? Because I understand that the stomach is a place for men where fat is deposited, so am I running too many calories, or is it my fat intake too high? Just to let you know I don't do any cardio, just lots of heavy lifting, I also thought this might be a problem but I dislike running, cycling is what I might try to do more of.

Help appreciated

average day:
4 eggs, 2 wholemeal toast, butter
25g Whey shake (milk) + banana + CEE
<Workout>
Brown Pasta, Tin of Tuna + Pesto
25g Whey Shake (water) + banana
Large Chicken Breast/Rump Steak
500ml Skimmed Milk

Train 3-4 times a week, usually 4 sets x 10 reps consisting of 5 exercises usually - use Flex magazine for alot of my workouts. Training for just coming up two years now.

Stats: 6'0, 200lb, probably more 210 now, 42" chest if you need more info.

Your diet doesn't look too bad. Some suggestions...a little garbled however...
- I would take the 25g whey shake in water post workout, and eat the meal 45mins to an hour later.
- Where are all the veggies though? Try adding some in to the meal an hour after your workout, and in another meal either earlier or later.
- You could make some other small changes that would definately help too if you wanted, like eating cottage cheese before bed for some slow release protein. Taking the butter out of your morning meal. Having a better carb source in the morning and pre-workout.

Get away from Flex Magazine routines right away! They are all junk routines. Look at the training board stickies and read into some of the routines there, you'll have much more success. It's also hard to make bigger changes to your diet without knowing your goals? Are you trying to lose weight right now? or gain weight and build muscle?

Cottage cheese noted.

My bodyfat is pretty high now I can imagine, maybe 20% so I need a cut whilst holding onto muscle, but then i'd just have to bulk again, so is it better I bulk now and cut later?? And just add for the time being?

I'll check out the stickies, why are they junk routines?

Most of them focus on waaayy too many lifts, with too many reps, and too many fluffy lifts. The keys to building muscle are much more simple, create a stimulus for growth by consistently increasing weight on key lifts (deads, bench, rows, squat), and provide enough fuel (food) to allow for the growth. Its much easier to improve 3-4 lifts from week to week than it is to improve 40 lifts.

If you're unhappy with your bodyfat you can add some cardio in now, but youre diet isnt ridiculously bad...2 times a week may make a big difference for you, but like I said, that's totally up to you.

dude I just read Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength the 3x5 programme.

Opened my eyes to say the least.

Going to give it a try, might have to show my gym buddy too as it will be dramatically changing what I currently do in the gym (too many lifts, with too many reps, and too many fluffy lifts)
