German Volume Training

is that shitload of reps and shitload of sets? i heard bout it while ago but cant remember, increases size but not strength??

Increases ability to have lots of injuries and overtrain.

B True

i was gonna start a thread about htis too, i was gonna maybe try it out for like a month to mix it up but not go past a month b/c too long would seem like overtraining. im also curious of others results, i foudn some on search engine, but what about ohters.

also i have some quesitons on the course, is it just one exercise for every bodypart, 10 sets for 10 reps each set at 60% of 1RM for each bodypart, is that all? because i have also heard one mass building exercise for each bodypart and one isolation exercise, but that seems too much, which is right? also does anybody have a link to the original program??

110%, you forgot the best part, exactly 60 seconds between sets. I did it a few years ago for squats for a couple of months. I'm not saying it doesn't work, it's great for conditioning. I wasn't aggressive enough with the weights I used so I don't think I got as much out of as I could. I had never done 20 rep squats before so to gauge my weight I did 20 reps with 225lbs one after the other and almost blacked out, it was weeks before I added enough weight that I couldn't make all 100 reps. Your 20 rep maximum for breathing squats would be more appropriate. I didn't really overtrain doing these because I was only working out twice a week and I coulda gone heavier, but my hip flexors were permanently sore. I didn't get any bigger or stronger at the time, but I did get into 20 rep squats which did get me the results I was looking for.

I think it depends on your muscle makeup. If your Fast twitchy like me you'd hate volume stuff. I lose strength rapidly after the first set. And unlike most people who get weaker gradually after each passing rep, my strength drop off from fatigue goes down in a exponential way, ie slowly with each passing rep and then boom I can barely lift the next rep :)

If your mainly slower twitch in makeup then volume traning may help you gain size and stength. Its pretty endurance orientated as you can guess
