Gaining far ealry in first cycle

Hey there

I am 160 pounds (yes, light i know) and on day 8 of a test 3 (300 mg/week), deca (200 mg/week) cycle and 1mg anastrazole every 3 days, all under a doctor's supervision.

As soon as I started I amped up my workouts and diet. I eat a very healthy and clean diet. I'm eating 200 grams of protein/carbs daily but i do likely go over, mainly from protein shakes, etc. I thought better to err on the side of too much than too little.

I weighed and measured myself today - no noticeable gains yet, except around my waist - 1/2 inch and i gained almost 5 pounds of mostly fat I assume. I'm a thin guy so gaining fat would not look good on me and i really want to keep this to a minimum. I gained 6 pounds in a week (now 166 pounds!) - and not muscle.

Should i cut the deca to 100 a week, adjust diet, or wait for the meds to kick in more? As of now i feel nothing that i can sense.

This is all from a doctor and pharmacy.

thanks for your input, it's so helpful and I figure things out in these early days!

The test and deca both will take 3-4 weeks to fully kick in. If you suddenly add alot of calories before the gear kicks in, what do you think will happen? The additional carbs in your diet could also be making you retain more water than normal, every gram of carbs is stored with 4 grams of water. Also, even though the gear hasn't "kicked" in yet, some of that extra test may still be converting to estrogen despite the adex... you may simply be more sensitive than usual to estrogen. Give yourself a few weeks to let the gear kick in and perhaps increase your adex dosage a little. And lastly, remember, since you said you want to err on the side of caution, that means eating everything in sight on your bulking cycle... you have to accept a little fat gain to get the most muscle gain. You can cut the few extra pounds of fat later with a nice cutting cycle!

Your most likely gaining water weight at the moment. I usually gain about 7-10 pounds of water weight in the first two weeks of a cycle.

I wouldnt drop the deca to 100mg, it wont be worth running at that dosage

Water weight, and maybe some fat with like an ounce of muscle. Keep everything clean and drink MINIMUM - let me say it again - MINIMUM 1 gallon of water a day. Idealy, 1.5-3 gallons daily. Also, your proten intake looks too low in my opinion. 200g a day isn't bad, but it could be a bit higher.

The fact that you amped up your diet will also put weight on quickly.

You should have amped up your diet and training before going on cycle. Your diet and training should be amped up whether you are on aas or not if you really want gains and sustainable results.

I added a day per week and added to diet as per my doctor and trainer's advice ;)

You can train more often with aas cuz of the incredible recovery times. Just know that you will have to increase your calories even more when you go off to keep your gains.

Also, going by the scale isn't always a great way to measure. Strength and leanness are the best ways to tell if you are advancing.

If you are getting better strength, getting leaner, and maybe your weight isn't going up all that much, it doesn't matter. Getting leaner and increasing strength while maintaining or increasing body weight means you ARE gaining muscle.

I think you over thinking the crap otter this cycle, bro!
This is a very small cycle you doing and nothing to go crazy about in all the small detail. Make sure you eat 250-300g of protein a day, lots of good carbs and about 100g of good fat.
Total caloric intake and I assume you may have a high metabolism should be at least 3500k a day. If you get fat then cut back a little in the future. Most of the weight you have gained so far most likely is water but that's not necessarely a bad thing, that will help you gains in the near future. You prob will end up gaining 20lbs or more by the looks of it.
This cycle will not be clean and you will not end up ripped unless you do cardio but that may affect weight gain a bit. Avoid eating lots of salt and take potassium and magnesium to help with the bloat and water retention. If that persist increase AI.
PS....I like your doctor, he is a good man! :)
