Let's take a look what the FBI says,
In 2010 --> murders in the States --> 358 by rifles, 6009 by handguns, 373 by shotguns, 2035 by unknown weapons, 1704 by knifes, 1722 by other weapons, 745 by hands.
While, 51% of those weapons were obtained legally, 12% illegally (and 37% crimes has not been solved so we don't know how those weapons were obtained).
Ok, "hangunds don't kill people", and "murders will obtain their weapons illegally if we ban them and we won't be able to get them and defense ourselves" arguments discarded... ok, ready for the next foolishness. Shoot.
