Yea ummm, i'm gonna have to go with a NO on that one.

There is a Bow-Tie on the front of my truck...and one on my mothers car... Dad had to settle for a Caddy symbol on his though:)

Chevy...:)

i have no brand loyalty...............

i buy whatever i like at the moment.

in the driveway/garage right now i have a first generation mustang, a 350 v8 powered s-10 truck and a cop car clone mercury grand marquis, easily the best long distance road trip car i have ever owned.

REAL americans buy what they want!

Where is your F-body now :p

hmmmmm this is not tough..

Chevy.

I have owned 22 cars in my life. 3 of them were not Chevy... (they were 2 Pontiac Trans Ams and a Pontiac GTO)

This is not even a discussion for car people. Now when it comes to Imports.. I would rather drive a Ford or a Dodge towing a Chevy than own a Import.

FORD F-150 SuperCrew 4x4...best ruck I have ever owned. I can't say I'm completely pro-Ford though. I do like Chevy trucks as well.

Ford all the way. Have a 65 Mustang fastback now. Had a cherry 66 coupe that was stolen. I do like the 1970 Chevelle though.

In front of your rustang bro. Come on the mustang could only make the hp of the ls1 by putting a supercharger on it. And the fbody is coming back, just needs a break. How many sportscars does ford make? One, mustang. The vette , camaro , trans am compete to much with each other and it kills their business. Stangs sound good cause you can get true duals underneath them but other than that its nothing

Ford f 550 decked out like in the Toby Keith video is sweet

but hell I rented a 03 Silverado to take to my cottage because my car couldnt haul my yak and canoe, and fuck its a sweet ride,so damn quick with awesome off road ability

Chevy guy here too. Found On Road Dead sorry had to do it...lol

american cars suck, and dodge/chysler is the bottom of the bottom of the barrel.

Actually let me clarify... american cars post approx 1973 suck.
Old school muscle cars rule.

Nissan 300ZX TT. Intake, exhaust and chip = 400hp at the crank and reliable enough to go over 100,000 miles easy. Again RELIABLE DAILY DRIVER. Even has goodies like speed sensitive steering, eletronically adjustable suspension, Limited slip differential ETC ETC.... Swap the differential from a NA to TT and with the above mods you will go 11's on the track real easy. It will also tear up the auto cross track.

Toyota Supra TT. This beast can be modified to 1100 HP on stock engine internals. Now that is impressive. But you can take a stock one and pull a few hoses and do some BASIC upgrades and get over 400hp at the wheels almost for free.

Both cars use only a 3.0 6cyl powerplant, which in my eyes is even more impressive.

You forgot to mention that both cars cost twice as much as a late model mustang/camaro. if equal amounts are spent there is no competition. the larger displacement V8's will smoke those ricers. not dissing you, those cars are dope. but all things are relative.

Not really you can pick up a 1990 300zx TT for about 8 grand. And you get the added benefit of driving an upscale car not some rattly loose ford or chevy. I owned Arerican cars in the past, they are so loose and rattle so much it's not even funny. Also the quality of parts and paint is by far inferior. And the dispacement of the engines has the shittiest size to power ratios.

I would also be curious how those v8's would smoke those ricers as you put it, they are very finely engineered cars and deserve more respect then the simple large displacement engines in American cars with 1970's technology.

Way to support america's economy by buying foreign cars... (yes, I know it still supports the economy, but not as well as buying non-imports)

That was a cheap shot. My family has owned nothing but American cars until they realised they all depreciated like a mo fo and started to fall apart and were in and out of service with the dealer non stop. Then there were the re-calls.

So in short you may want to look into how many hundreds of thousands of AMERICAN workers work and Toyota and Honda assembling the cars just like at GM.

I've wondered why I hear about an SS beating a cobra often. When you look at 1/4 mile and top speed specs, the Cobra wins easily which leads me to believe that the reason the Cobra loses is b/c of the driver not the car. I can't find a stock 1/4 mile time on google that beats the Cobra so what gives?

http://www.car-videos.com/performance/distance.asp?dist=1320

Of course the 2003 cobra is going to win its f'in supercharged. I dont think thats a fair comparison. And there wasnt an ss made in 2003 but if their was im sure it would have been modified the extra 30 horses to beat the snake. Still the zo6 was faster which is basically an lighter fbod with an ls6 engine which is not much different then the ls1 in the 2002 models. Id rather have a cobra though than a piece of shit rice burner. They sound like my dirt bike.

Good point. I myself have a Honda accord that was built in Georgia.

The LS6 engine was released in 1970. It was a 454 big block chevy with square port heads.

the LS1 is a small block chevy that came out in the late 90's.

needless to say there are BIG diffrences.
(both are kickass motors)

GM: getta mechanic

FIAT: fix it alla time

BMW: break my window, steal my radio (320i)
