For people on Body-for-life

I do it all the time. My wife and I work out together in the morning from 5:30 - 6:30 and we haven't had any problems. Make sure you drink a couple of glasses of water to get those body processes moving and make sure you have a clean diet the rest of the day. Eat a good high protein meal soon after your workout to refuel your body and let those muscles start rebuilding, then keep up your eating throughout the day. Your last meal of the day should provide all the nutrition you need to get through a workout the next morning.

Cardio days work a bit different. After a hard cardio workout you want your system to feed off of itself. If you can, wait at least an hour before eating for max fat burn. Its worked for us for 14 months now.

Actually, your post-workout meal should contain a high ammount of carbs. Get some protein, but don't make it your main source of food for that meal.
 
yes, except on leg days, i'll try to eat 2-3 times before i step foot in the gym. i've tweaked the bfl program as well........i've achieved more results from it too.
 
I've been sticking to his working out on an empty stomach/not eating for an hour after reccoendations as well, although usually I can't wait a whole hour after because I'm so freakin hungry!! That meal contains the most carbs I will eat all day. (2 slices of wheat toast with a little peanut butter, and 4 egg whites with chopped up tomato and green pepper in it)
 
I've also changed the program a little bit too...I do cardio 6x/week for 20 min because I like to run, but go harder on cardio only days. I also added the thigh adductor machine to the lower bod workout and do abs every day.
