only way they dont go is if they lose out.. and if they are gonna do that then i dont want them going anyway.

the niners game is a big step in showing the rest of the league that they are a contender... if for some reason they get blown out then they will be in big trouble heading into the playoffs... unless of course they rebound to win the final two against the gnats and bucs... but those two teams are no longer part of the elite in the nfl...

basically, this week will show us where my guys are as of right now... unless they do that let down bullshit, then they will have me angry and confused too.

Don't you find that even when they win it's just the other team dropping passes or playing bad?

ie: Giants, KC, Chargers even last week. If Wash. would have kept running the ball the eagles would have been destroyed. 8 times within the 20 and they got like 6 points. They were lucky. This week is different. Big game man. San fran has explosive ability and with the 2nd ranked offense it will be tough. Only thing is Garcia is going to play hurt and you know what the green machine does to wounded quarterbacks.....BLITZ BLITZ BLITZ!!!

DAWKINS IS AWESOME....THE GUY IS REALLY TURNING IT ON!!!

i agree they win ugly.. but i dont see anyone getting unlucky breaks... example.. when LT fumbled it was cuz he saw dawkins coming up about to plant his ass and he started to try and make a move and just hit the ball on his knee... its what the eagles do that causes other teams to make the mistakes... then if the other team is in the red zone they settle for 3 cuz that d is everywhere.

dawkins has been turning it on for 4 years now... last year was bullshit and the only reason he didnt get more credit was his apendix surgery.

the surprise to me is bobby taylor... i used to get worried anytime he was in coverage on a man.. he would get way too many penalties.. this year, its like... go for it fuckers...

when other teams move the ball its cuz the eagles are playing subpar, not cuz they are doing anything special...
but i wanna see what they got against a complete team like SF... garcia, owens, barlow and hearst....

my biggest concern going into the playoffs is the offense... if they can get 20 they will dominate every game...

the main problem the eagles face is a problem most every team in the nfl suffers from. On any given day you can lose. That leaves little margin for error. There have been more upsets this year than there have in a long time. It should be a very interesting playoffs indeed. I think the Eagles need to play a better game than they did against the redskins if they want to beat the niners.

i agree.. the eagles are going to be forced to play at a playoff level... something they rarely do... they remind me of the fab five team of the michigan wolverines.. they would play JUST GOOD ENOUGH to win...

mcnabb bugs me at times... dont get me wrong.. i pray to him at night, he is my lord and savior, but he isnt michael jordan.. he cannot just turn it on and score 40 when he feels like it.. he needs to go all out every series come january or else its done.

as an objective fan, let me first say that McNabb is still maturing as a QB. The true great ones took time before they reached immortal status (except for marino). 2nd, and I'll say it again, he isn't getting too much help in the WR position. The jury is still out on the young core of WR's they have (except for James Thrash, a good 3rd WR IMO). Until he gets a pro bowl calibre WR he's going to have his work cut out for him. He also needs to have solid running game which he has.

McNabb needs to utilize his running ability. From what I've read he himself is the one who stops himself from running. Look at Kordell Stewart this season. Once he realized that running is a part of his game, the passing game all of a sudden has opened up for him. Forcing the defense to play spy means that there is one less defensive player that can cover the pass.

McNabb can't carry a team, but with the right role players, he can lead them to greatness. Which sucks for me because I follow the skins. He better make sure he never has a head on collision with Lavar Arrington, because he'll shorten his career if that happens.

The Eagles are much improved, but still quite young. I don't think this is their year. I think the Rams are headed to victory.

If the Eagles keep their team together and get a couple of good draft picks they'll get it in a couple of years though.

They need to tighten up there rush defense on the road. If they can do that, they can make a strong run at it this year.

That is a big game for both teams. The 49ers and Eagles. The Eagles offense just hasn't quite jelled yet. Duce Staley ahsn't quite gotten back to the form he was before his injuries. McNabb is still learning. Their defense is top notch and can stop most teams and contain almost all of them. They would have to jump on a team early and ride there defense the rest of the way once they get into the playoffs. If they have to play from behind, It will be an uphill battle that I don't think they're young offense will be able to win. As for the 49ers, if they can round the ball effectively, they are really hard to stop. They're defense has really played well this year, a lot better than I expected. Both of these teams, along with a few others, all have a shot. Out of the 49ers, Bears, Eagles, Packers, Saints, and Bucs ?, none of them are that much better than the others. As for the Rams, they are the best team, without a doubt, but they turn the ball over a lot, and can beat themselves on any day. If the Packers have homefiled advantage during the first 2 rounds, I see them making it to the NFC championship game against the Rams. The Bears have been the most consistant aside from the Rams, but I'd have to see them beat the Packers in the playoffs to believe it...

He's hurt but he's going to play no matter what. Garcia is a team player. No matter what happens he will play because they have not clinched a playoff spot yet. I agree with the statement on McNabb. He is streaky and he is reluctant to run at times. What really gets me is when they just don't click at all. McNabb either throws a screen pass at the receivers feet or 2 yards short or the receiver drops the freaking ball. Truly, i think Pinkston is not up for the job. They need to give the ball to Mitchell alot more especially now so they can have a go to receiver come playoff time. They are working him in slowly but too slowly i believe.

Must i remind everyone that the eagles almost beat the Rams week 1. Rams were lucky to win since Philly didn't recover a fumble on the Rams 6, they decided they wanted to run it in. They also ran out of time in the 4th quarter to kick a field goal because they had no time outs remaining and then they even got the ball first in the OT but couldn't capitalize. Rams are good but vunerable. Steelers are a better team.

The impressive thing about the Rams this year is the number of quality teams they have beaten: Eagles, Dolphins, 49ers twice, Saints, Jets, and Patriots. They're 2 losses, to Tampa and New Orleans were both close games. I wouldn't be suprised to see the Rams and Steelers in the Super Bowl. The Steelers would need to get a lead and try and run the ball to keep the Rams offense off the feild. If the Steelers fell behind early and were forced to throw the majority of the game, I don't think they would have a chance. The Steelers are a very physical team, which could pose a problem for the Rams. They would have to play a ball-control game similar to the one the Bills and Giants played in the Super Bowl back in 1990.

bro, almost winning a game doesn't count on the wins catagory. Plus that was week one of the NFL season, the Rams started pretty slowly then. If you had a chance to watch the Monday Night Football game and the game against the Niners you'll recognize that the Rams are the best team in the NFC, period. The eagles are good, but don't forget they play in a very weak NFC east.

It should be an interesting game regardless. The niners prolific offense, which pretty much anally raped the dolphins defense, agains the eagles D. Garcia better watch his back.

The key for the Eagles is to stop Garrison Hearst and force the 49ers to be one-dimensional. Garcia is a really accurate passer, and very mobile, but the Rams proved a few weeks ago that if you can take away their running game and focus on rushing Garcia, you can shut them down. And the Eagles have a superior defense to the Ram's. I haven't seen a whole lot of the Eagles this year, but from what I've seen, Staley has only had a few good games. McNabb is gonna have to have a big game throwing and will probably have to make some big plays running the ball. The 49ers will be riding high after their demolition of the Dolphins, so the Eagle smay have to wait till they play the Giants to clinch a playoff birth.

MADCOCKSUCKER has every season to be scared this week. I don't blame him for shitting in his pants because his iggles might not make the playoffs.

It's like this, The G-Men have the biggest game of the year this week and if they beat the Seahawks and the iggles lose. It is pretty much over for the iggles because you know the iggles are going to lose the NY Giants the following week. To make things worse the iggles have to play the Bucs in their last week, so you can count that as another loss. The Giants have it tough too because they have to play the Packers in their last week but at least it's a home game for the G-Men.

BYE BYE IGGLES. CHUNKY SOUP, MMMMMM GOOD!!!:D

I'm still scrathing my head at how the Giants made it to the Super Bowl last year. I can't figur eout who were bigger overachievers, them or the Falcons of a few years ago...

<yawn> you enjoyed your one year. Start rebuilding.

hahahaah. It's really starting to look like the giants cheated in the playoffs last year. hmmmmmmmmmm. ;)

I'm referring to the rumor that came out that they tapped into the other teams headsets at the home playoff games. It was obvious that they didnt' pull that when they played the Ravens in the superbowl.

Overachievers or not. We were in the Superbowl and that is what counts.

What did they have in common...

They both beat my Vikes. Dennis Green is so not a big game coach. Vikes should have won both years.

fistfull, i know you are giants fan and have likely been through the jets past collapses... but philly is not a NY team... they dont blow it like you blow cock... your giants are fucking done, face the facts... . eagles will hand them their ass next week and the bucs need to pray to win... hey, at least you will have sundays free in 3 weeks.. congratulations.

as for my eagles, i think the key is the blitz... they seem to have backed off a little bit in the last 3 or 4 weeks... its buggin me, but its also keeping other teams off guard... if they get to garcia they will own this game.

big matchup i wanna see is owens vs. taylor and vincent with that roll over coverage... force one in there jeff and give ball hawk b.dawk some stats.

Maddicklicker you must be talking about your fantasy league team or something. The NY Giants own the iggles like a whore. We drop a load on your face and we are out of there like a flash. So next week we will win with the wam bam thank you mam fashion and off to real match up against the Packers. To tell you the truth I don't think the NY Giants should be scheduled to play the iggles. They should give the win to the Giants and both teams can rest on those weeks.

I want the Eagles to win today. Hopefully both sides don't put up too many points. That's my main concern today.

shame on latimer for going with the under....

mouthfullofcock, living in the past with your former streak is not good for the psyche... it makes it appear that you are dillusional, and though you may be, that is bad and unhealthy for you...

i understand your pain, i'd be pissed too if my favorite team showed myself and the league they were flukes... i mean, its understandable to be upset, its ok though... get some professional help, or you could buy a subscription to SI and order some back issues and play make believe... or you could play madden on rookie level and lead the giants to an 8 win season... hey, its a plus. good luck though, lets hope you can take care of them thoughts you have...

oh, and spit the cock out.

Madcocklover, we were in the superbowl and you weren't. As I remember the Giants beat the iggles 3 times to get there. Aaaahahaha, Aaaahahaha. As for beating us this year. Congratulations because our stupid kicker schanked a kick and you went 39 yards for a touchdown after our defense spent the whole entire second half on the field. Consider it a gift. Next week get ready to get pissed on like you have been pissed on before, but this time I think the Giants should make it 10 straight victories.

You keep on dreaming and be sure to ask Santa for the Giants to lose today, because if the Giants make it and you make and we play each other. It only means one thing. The iggles not show up and go straight to the golf course.

The 49ers defense is looking pretty awesome these last couple of weeks. After watching this game, I wouldn't want to have to play either of these teams in the playoffs. As long as the 49ers don't have to play the Rams, who they can't seem to beat, they could make it to the Super Bowl. The Eagles are gonna have to find a ground game or they might not make it out of the first round...

No, I would say winning the Superbowl is what counts. Just ask Dan Marino or Jim Kelly.

I think we will see a rematch of the 1980 Rams vs. Steelers Superbowl. with the Rams winning handily this time.

Last time these two met in the Superbowl it was Terry Bradshaw vs Vince Ferragamo.

Of course you want to win that game but he said that we were in the Superbowl because we overachieved and I stated that we were in it and that's what counts as far as that goes. Overachieving or not, you have to be in it to win it. Unlike his team that was watching my team play in the Superbowl.

I don't consider the NY Giants overachievers. They didn't win the whole thing. If they did win the whole thing, I still wouldn't consider them overachievers.
