hey fellaz... i like football but not futbol... so lets talk about football.

eagles still seem to be missing something, duce may be coming on and if he does i think this will put them as THE best team in the nfc... if not, then they will live and die with their defense (i like the odds regardless)...

best d in the nfl... hands down.

anyway, what is gonna happen in the nfc central? i say chicago will fade soon and the bucs will challenge for a wild card spot...

nfc west is interesting with the niners, saints, and rams all showing strong so far.

the afc is a toss up, i think the raiders are the best team over there but... i can see denver, miami, colts, even the jets upsetting them.

I still can't believe what happened to the Vikes. The Pats are my team, we've been playing good but I don't think we got it in us to get to the playoffs.

I'd have to say it's gonna be Rams from the NFC...And I don't know whose gonna come out of the AFC.

MadB, where ya been?

I have to give it to your Eagles, they look pretty strong on d, and enough offense to win against most teams. I'd like to see them against the Rams in the playoffs.

I saw the Vikes coming apart before the season started. R smith retirement hurt that offense, especially the passing game.

Oakland looks pretty good, if they get home field advantage in the playoffs. Not a sure thing like the Ravens last year though...

oh the skins are gonna come into town and open up a can of whoop ass on the eagles. either that or I'm going to be pulling my foot out of my mouth.

This NFL season has been fucked up. Anyone can lose on any given day. If you're a gambler take the underdogs, not only are they covering the spread at a phenominal rate, they're winning too!!

nature boy... open up and say ahhhhh..

first thing i did this week was set my lineups in fantasy... i'm counting 30 points by the gang green defense... i am gonna go out and TELL you that we'll get 2 fumbles and 2 picks... to go along with 4 or 5 sacks and many many pressures. banks is gonna think he is at michigan state all over again.

i gotta point out that the afc central is a fucked up division. pittsburgh is not a GOOD team, merely adequate.. i like bus and all but i want him to get hurt for 2 games... zerowe (cant spell his name) has a killer average per carry and per pass caught.. i wanna see him in a feature role.. then again, thats what many said about huntley.

PRETENDERS (as of right now, in my opinion)
jets, bears, steelers,

CONTENDERS
philly, rams, raiders, fish, pack, and yes the colts too

teams that will ruin it for someone else

saints, chiefs, pats, bengals, LIONS, skins (it wont be philly though)

Lions suck, hate to break it to you. They have never ever ever been a good team. Even with Barry Sanders they sucked. I think the Rams are for real, The pac is solid. Raiders win but I just don't see them as a "great" team. I think if the Colt's D ever stepped up they would dominate. They have soooo much offensice talent. I love the Broncos, but they cannot play consistently, you never know if they are going to show up.

I'm not making any predictions after the way this season has been going.

But I will say that this years bust player is . . . . Kevin Carter - Titans. Only 18 tackles and TWO !!! Sacks . . . . Major bust.

foos ball is the devil!

waterboy1.jpg

Coach - What part of the snake is this? Mom - Well, snakes don't generally have parts, but, if i had to guess, i'd say it was his,.....knee.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Jets vs. Raiders Super Bowl. J-E-T-S...Jets Jets Jets. But more than likely the Rams are gonna get the NFC.

You couldn't have a Jets / Raiders Superbowl. They're both AFC teams.

NFC Central: The Vikes will come on late and along with GB and TB, others spoil it for Chicago. Detroit will upset them as well, although I am sure they are already trying to decide who they will draft next year.

NFC West: Is the strongest division in the NFL with SF, Atlanta, NO and St Louis. Unfortunately one of these teams won' t make the playoffs. I hope its Atlanta.

I can't see the AFC doing well in the Super Bowl this year. No team really impresses me compared to the Rams.

sorry guys... rams are taking a hike out of the playoffs this year.

the saints, giants, and eagles all have FAR better defenses... and though the rams have that awesome offense warner gets smacked up by teams like this. the rams were given the game against the eagles AND the giants.

he was like a deer in headlights against them and i can guarentee teams looked at that and that is why he is starting to struggle a bit. face it, that thumb injury happened in week one, he was fine until the giants did what philly did... hit him hard and often and he struggles... happened last year too, hence the saints beating them.

rams are in much trouble, despite their record. just my 2 cents.

one wish i have is that the eagles and rams didnt play week one, i wish it were NOW!!! first play of the game was a fumble from center at the eagles 10... spot the rams 7 points? not a good idea.

a couple of things here, in paragraph 2 you mentined the Giants defense. BRO THEIR DEFENSE SUCKS!!! Look at the last 4 games or so, they stink. Strahan is the only solid player they have besides Armstead, who's hurt if I'm not mistaken. The Giants are finished this year, they were pretenders last year, and they're pretenders this year. That rumor that they were tapping into the opponents headsets last year in the playoffs is starting to look true to me. but that's my opinion.

as for the rams, dude they're clicking on all cylinders right now. If they have home field advantage nobody's gonna beat them.

Now for the game tomorrow. The drunk tank is gonna be exta full of wasted mullet wearing eagles fans becuase the skins are gonna stun the eagles WORSE than the arizona game. YOU REMEMBER THAT GAME DON'T YOU?!?!?!?! BAHAHAHHHAAHAHHA!!!

The Rams will not win the Superbowl...

If you hit them in the mouth, they can be intimidated very easily...

Their QB and recievers are pussies.......

The Patriots are my team also. I have liked them since they got smashed in 85 by the bears. I usually pick the underdogs and i have liked them ever since.

They have to beat New Orleans this week and i will be at the Meadowlands on December 2nd rooting for them to beat the F'in Jets.

Brady is starting the rest of the year so i think that the playoffs...wild card is not too far out of reach if we continue to win the games in our division.

Go Pats.

Buld0g are you from Mass? I have some family in Pittsfield.

Insano

With Brooks starting to play well, teams have been unable to stack the box to stop RW....
I look for RW to pound the Pats Defense mercilessly...

Bears have a rabbit foot stuck up their ass,

They will make the playoffs, but will make no noise because of their QB position...

The A-train is also out for this week...

if the bears can keep their core football players next season they could really make a run at the superbowl. Good running game, talented WR's, and a solid defense. Should be interesting.

I wish there was a way you could deliver this speech in the NY Giants locker room before each game.

Btw, if anybody wants to trade qb's with the NY Giants. Please give Ernie Accorsi a call.

you really think it's collins? don't get me wrong, he's not Elway or anything, but he's not horrible. he's just average. Seems to me like they forgot how to run the football. when you can't run on the vikings defense, you have HUGE problems.

Damn straight! Don't forget how young of team they are too. With exception of Traylor and Washington, their defense is averaging something like 4 years NFL experience.

he isn't a superbowl qb. the moral is low on the team, because everybody knows if the game is going to come down to him. he isn't going to get the job done. average qb doesn't win superbowls. you give the giants phil simms in they hay day as their qb and our record would be a whole lot better.

the play calling is so damn predictable too and Dayne is a bust. plus receivers dropping the ball on key plays doesn't help either. the whole offense is a big mess.

watch the giants sidelines. you can see the look of despair of the defense when the offense is on the field. it looks like they sort of feel sorry for themselves. they know that they have to play awesome or they aren't going to win. they say it before every game.

fistfullofsteel said:

Au contraire. Average QBs who don't make mistakes usually do well.

Mark Rypien
Earl Morrall
Trent Dilfer (actually below average)
Even Elway who is great learned to tone it down and hand off to TD
Jeff Hostetler?
Doug Williams

Great QBs who never won (in many tries)
Jim Kelly
Fran Tarkenton
Dan Marino

Whats this talk about QB holding back the Bears????

Jim Miller is doing a great job and he WILL stay healthy!

They are getting stronger as the season rolls on---look out!

This is the superbowl players of the game. How many on this list are quaterbacks and how many of the quaterbacks are good? When the qb didn't get it, did the team have a good qb?

A player who is considered one of the greatest players of all time. (Note, Earl Morrall relieved an injured Johnny Unitas late in the first half, although Unitas completed the Colts' only scoring pass.)

IV Jan. 11, 1970 Len Dawson. hall of famer qb

What about Trent Dilfer? He's in about the same class as Jim Miller. The Ravens just had a great defense, and a solid running game. What do the Bears have? An even better running game, and a pretty good defense (although not as good as the Ravens had). I still think it's the Ram's super bowl to lose.

More often than not. Just by looking at the list. It's better to have a good qb. There are always going to be expections here and there, but since when in life is anything certain.

Look for the Packers to kick some ass. Especially if they get home field advantage. They torched the Ravens about 3 weeks ago and they are just getting warmed up.

Favre is probably going to torch my NY Giants too unfortunatley.

The Green Bay Fudge Packers will have to win the division from the Bears, which will be a good race. My picks for divisional champs are:

AFC East:Jets
AFC Central:Steelers
AFC West:Raiders
NFC East:Giants
NFC Central:Bears
NFC West:Rams

The Packers, Ravens, Broncos, Saints and Dolphins all have a good shot at a wild card. I would like to see the Redskins get in. I don't like them, I just feel bad for them for all the shit they had to take at the beginning of the year.

I dont' think the Packers are worried. They already beat them 20-12 at Chicago, and at home they play awesome. Except last week. I have no idea what happened. They probably took the game too lightly and it cost them.

That's going to be a great game. The Bears will be looking for revenge. The oldest rivalry in the game. They'd be fired up even if they weren't gunning for the divisional championship.

wonderful... first i get "the dud" showing up on my thread... he knows that i know this is an attack on my wolverines... fuckeyes got em, ya... fuck you!

and now nature boy can brag too? what the fuck??? i hate holidays and the entire week following thanksgiving..

eagles need to find out what they are on offense, cuz as of right now with don in the pocket they are awful.

by the way, eagles fans annoy me... sick of hearing them boo people they should be cheering.

Well I lets see I predicted that the Skins would win against the Eagles, AND I predicted that there would be hundreds of arrests on drunk mullet wearing eagles fans at Veterans Stadium (AKA the 70,000 person Porta-John).

I WAS CORRECT ON BOTH!

Lets look at the NFC East:

Washington - Hottest team in the NFC. Lavar Arrington is a fucking cyborg. He's the reason why McNabb wasn't scrambling.

Eagles - Who do the Eagles have as WR's? Who? Their GM sucks to have those bum WR's playing with McNabb. Eagles D line got manhandled today too.

Giants - Too many problems to list. They got VERY lucky last year.

Arizona - Who cares?

Dallas - See Arizona

lets not bash the wr's or reid and his decisions... last year they had torrence small and charles johnson as 1-2 guys...

this year they have thrash (YES he WAS the skins best wr last year), and pinkston (mini-moss)... mitchell will come on by playoffs and be a legitimate threat... and MAYBE they get someone in the draft next year... boom, what was weak is now a strength...

lets face it, mcnabb lost this game... he was off way too much and didnt scramble... no, mr cyborg didnt contain him, mcnabb contained himself.. as he has tried to do in each of the eagles losses (for the most part)... mcnabb is better running still and i wish he would accept that instead of saying how he wants to break the stereotype...

anyway, the skins d outplayed the eagles offense and by that happening it forced the eagle d on the field way too much... i have no doubt the skins cant move the ball in the air against philly, not many teams can... but they ran it down their throats early and often... THAT needs to be taken care of... i say more run blitzing instead of the jailbreak pass rushes.

well see about your WR's. Philly has had a horrible time drafting WR's for the last 15 + years. Your best reciever in recent memory was Keith Jackson..... and he was a TE! As for thrash, sure he was the skins leading WR last year, but that wasn't saying too much either.

If you seriously think Arrington didn't contain McNabb then maybe we weren't watching the same game. Arrington had spy responsibilites on McNabb, I'm not making this up, that's what they did. They kept mcnabb in the pocket and forced him to beat the defense. They didn't get shit down the field, the eagles could only complete 3 to 5 yard passes. Anyway, when they play again, lets see if McNabb runs. He won't.

The eagles are lucky they get to play Kansas City next week.

thanks for the football lesson.. i never heard of a spy before on defense.

arrington spied.. big deal... almost every team the eagles play uses a spy on mcnabb... and when randall was there they did it to him too... just cuz you got a spy on you doesnt mean you cant do some things to get outside... spies can miss tackles too, and guess what? you can block them with a back without having it be an interference call. eagles and mcnabb both want him to be a pocket guy... he is too young and raw for this, let him do what he does best. i'm not saying give him 20 carries a game... i am saying bootlegs here and there, roll the pocket... sooner or later the LB is gonna bite and get sucked in.

Not when you're dealing with Lavar Arrington. Don't tell me McNabb never saw the play where Troy Aikmans career got ended by "The Terminator" Lavar Arrington. Arrington's has to be one of the hardest hitting linebackers along with Ray Lewis. McNabbs no fool, he knows a beating is comming when he runs in the vicinity of the Terminator.

did someone say the eagles didnt get destroyed today? cuz i believe i said they were handed their asses.

fred barnett, calvin williams... two VERY good receivers in the last 15 years... VERY GOOD!!! the birds just have not had a complete team.. if its not bad wr's then its no running game... or no qb, or no offensive line... defense is always solid, even in the 3-13 year... they were just on the field 35 minutes a game and made it look like they werent good.
