Flu Shot

Flu shot 3 weeks before competition, good idea/bad idea? :)

Thanks! :)

Remember, this individual might be on some kind of anabolic like anavar or something, any kind of reaction?

Thanks! :)

Good idea. Will make no difference with contest prep. Beats having the flu.

Got mine 3 weeks ago. A little soreness at the injection site for a day. No other sides what so ever. A number of my clients have received them with no sides other than mild soreness at the injection site. Will not impair your workouts and will NOT give you the flu.

Although many people (who don't workout) told me to "take it easy" and "I wouldn't do anything strenuous if I were you," the day I had my flu shot, I hit the weights later on that day and was totally fine. Funny though, those people had worse side effects than me! I too only experienced mild soreness at the injection site, while they were dragging their asses around the office the next week!

yeah yeah, i told you to take it easy too. just so you dont weaken your immune system, exercise, though beneficial for your immune system overall, can weaken your bodies defenses if you have too much on the proverbial systemic plate. a flu shot can either take you down or prove your bodies defenses are up to par.

thats my girl, you have a good immune system. "you go girl"!!!!

I am one of the unfortunate ones that gets her very first flu shot and ends up sick as a dog for about 2-3 days!:( However, I have been told that since I have done it now I wont have near the reaction in the future when receiving the vaccine. I was also informed that it doesnt necessarily mean you have a weak immune system when one has a reaction, just depends on the strain of flu that the vaccine is for.

Still beats sick as a dog for 7-10 days with another 3 - 4 weeks of recovery and possible secondary infection.

But, unless you're allergic to eggs, you should have no sides with the most current vaccines.

"I never get a flu shot or the flu. Guess I'm one the "lucky" ones. "

Heard that from 3 clients last year when I sent out a reminder email to them in October to get their shots. Paybacks were a bitch for all of them come last Febuary. Better hope your luck doesn't run out close to the Arnold.
