DARREM CHARLES' MOTHER KILLED IN SHOOTING
FLEXonline has learned that the mother of IFBB pro Darrem Charles was killed in a shooting in New York recently. Details at this time are sketchy, but the tragedy has been confirmed by Charles' manager Dan Solomon. Despite the shocking loss, Charles still plans to compete at the Mr. Olympia on October 19. We'll have more on this terrible news in a future FLEXonline and our print edition. We at FLEX send our heartfelt condolences to Darrem and his family.

DILLETT'S INSTANT FAMILY
Paul Dillett has had a raucous couple of years, and life just got more complicated for the one and only Freakenstein. In early September, Dillett got the call all men dread: fella, you've got a kid you didn't know about. Dillett, a Canadian native, was married back in Toronto years ago, then was divorced in 1991. Apparently, Dillett's ex was pregnant, but didn't inform the big lug until recently. Paul's daughter, Britney, is now 10 years old, and both her and mom will accompany Daddy as he attends the Olympia Weekend. Paul then plans on moving back to Canada with the gang. All's well that ends well! Congratulations, Paul!

PRE-OLYMPIA SIGHTINGS: THE BIG, THE BAD AND THE FUGLY
From the myriad FLEX network (i.e., McGough working the phones), we present the current guide to the leading Mr. Olympia contenders.
Ronnie Coleman: Did a recent FLEX promo at a nonbodybuilding event and looked phenomenal, with streamlined waist and more cuts than Rosie O'Donnell's new hairstyle.
Kevin Levrone: Big and full, and promising to shut a few "his best days are behind him" mouths.
Chris Cormier: Did a guest spot at the Tournament of Champions on September 30, and looked bigger than ever. To the naysayers who say he has too much weight to lose in the next two weeks, Cormier is renowned for coming in fast and furious to a contest.
Lee Priest: Will come in around 200 pounds and is currently the best he's ever been. Could be the big shock of the show.
Dennis James: Now in California from his Thailand home, the Menace is 10 pounds lighter than last year, and will be in his best shape. His constant big smile tells the story.
Orville Burke: Has solved the problem areas of last year and looks to improve on his sixth-place showing.
Dexter Jackson: Tighter than ever and equipped to crack the top six for the first time.
Flex Wheeler: The Enigma is down to under 230 pounds. His spirits are good, though he remains The Enigma.
King Kamali: Did a guest spot last week, and reviews from on-the-spot observers are mixed. But the Olympia is on October 19, not September 30. His new posing routine is apparently a barn-burner.
Craig Titus: Best he's ever looked. The flat pecs are gone. Bodybuilding's Bad Boy raves about the changes Milos "The Mind" Sarcev has made to his prep.
Markus Ruhl: German contacts say his legs are back to their pre-injury best, and he vows to be in his best ever condition without losing fullness.
Ernie Taylor: Ernie's pal Dorian Yates says ET's never looked better.
Nasser El Sonbaty: Keeping a lower profile than Flavio Baccianini doing the limbo, but promises all the physique criticisms of the past year have been dealt with.
Gunter Schlierkamp: At 300 pounds will be the biggest guy onstage, but commits to bring more than size to the party.
CHICK HOPES TO CLICK IN THE "O"
The loquacious, wise-cracking New York juggernaut Bob Cicherillo is by all reports in better shape than he was when he gained runner-up placings at the Southwest USA Pro and the Night Of Champions last May. Chick, who now lives in sunny California and trains at Gold's Gym, Venice, with fellow pro Tom Prince, was cornered by FLEX contributor Greg Merritt, who got Chick's take on Chick. Here's what he had to say about his impending Olympia debut on October 19 and his plans to compete at the GNC contest two weeks later.

"I'm not doing a whole lot different from the May shows. I'm looking to come in about 250 pounds dry. I was about 250 pounds at the Night of Champions, so I'm going to try to come in at the same weight but about 10-15% sharper. I need to be sharper than before if I'm going to do any damage at the Olympia."

"For the GNC show, I'll see what goes on at the Olympia, since both shows have virtually the same lineup. Then I'll have three weeks to fine-tune."

"I'm very excited about the Olympia. It's definitely cool, just the idea of going there and competing against guys like Flex Wheeler and Chris Cormier. I'm anxious and curious to see how I'm going to match up against some of the great names over the last six or seven years."

LENDA'S LATEST PICS

THE DIVINE MS. M.
The lovely Lenda Murray sent us in a couple of shots to tease her fans before her comeback unveiling at the Ms. Olympia on October 18, and she didn't disappoint. The Divine One is impressive indeed, appearing to make good on her vow to build a physique her way, combining her trademark dimensions with outstanding fullness and shapes. Assuming she'll achieve ripped conditioning - and with Chad Nicholls aiding her, she should - Murray is undoubtedly causing reigning Ms. Olympia Juliette Bergman some anxious thoughts. Then again, current Ms. International Yaxeni Oriquen, the always formidable Vickie Gates and former heavyweight Ms. O Valentina Chepiga should have something to say about all this, too. Then there's that other comeback superstar Laura Creavalle. This could be the most intriguing Ms. Olympia contest in the history of the sport. Stay tuned.
