most you know i just moved to Washington state, anyways i'm wanting to start fishing again, i haven't gone in like 5 year, i was just wondering if anyone knew what the best kind of pole to way is, i'm wanting to go salt and fresh water, so i'll be catching huge fish(shark lol) to meduim small fish...should i buy 2 different poles or just 1 medium sized one? lot's of $$$

You will definitely need two different poles.

You should not use the freshwater pole in saltwater.

if you know how to use a baitcast real then Shimano o Abu Garcia are great reels. You could use a Berkley rod (or an All-Star rod if you like high quality). If you like spinning reels then go with a Shimano or Diawa.

The saltwater rod and reel should be made for saltwater and about 30-80 pound test. Both Abu Garcia and Penn reels and rods are great for saltwater.

The price can go from $100 for one rod and real for freshwater and $180 for the saltwater rod and reel...to about $500-800 for both on the top end.

for freshwater i have a shimano spincast reel with a berkeley rod. i usually use a slip bobber w/ live bait so i don't need that nice of a reel.

you should check around your local sporting good stores and on the internet for remanufactured reels. i bought a remanufactured baitcast reel for $60 and the original price was $180.

I can tell you how to rig up a badass cane pole, but it doesn't sound like you're going to be fishing for crappie anytime soon. :D
