guys what dose of finasteride and for how long to take it a 55 year old female would need for hair loss? my mom is loosing lots of hair I guess because of her age and I would like to put her in a finasteride treatment, thank you.

the FDA never approved fina for women to combat hair loss.

having said that there are mixed studies on how good it is for females. generally 1mg a day is going to be the dose i would put her on to start and you can up it to 2.5mg a day
