Final Word on Citirc Acid, Aspartame, Splenda etc on Keto

We need to get this problem rectified... I test with ketostix everytime i pee and i drink alot of diet soda... It doesn't seem to affect me being in ketosis, but evidentally r-ala will give false results and i take alot of r-ala... Also ketostix some say are inaccurate. So i dont know to 100% certainty that it is not kicking me out.

However i look at many keto recipes and snacks sold for keto that include aspartame, splenda and citric acid... So whats the final word?

The final word is that there isn't one...

Everyone is different bro - and certain people are sensitive to artifical sweetners while others are not.

Thus, the final word for YOU may be that you can remain in ketosis and have all the artificial sweetner you like - others may not be so lucky. You just have to play around and see.

This is what I found for myself. Remember, you may be different.

Does it kick me out?

Citric Acid: Yes
Aspartame: NO
Splenda: NO

Best of luck

Citric acid should effectively "kick you out" due to it's place in the Kreb's cycle. However, just because you aren't showing ketones doesn't mean you aren't burning fat. Ketosis isn't magic, and if the choice comes down to a diet soda w/some aspartame and CA or a regular coke, which one do you think will hurt your diet more? On a side note, I drank a fair amount of diet soda and alotta artificial sweeteners and still lost fat.
