Fina Help (Specific Q)

[Suspension]

-Crushed pellets, added them to 'magic' solution
-Added oil within 1/2 hour to prevent oxidation
-Boiled water, swirled the solution and let sit.

The product has 1/4" filler on the bottom, a layer of brown 'glue' or whatever on top of the filler, and then it look like a bit more filler on top of the glue. Otherwise the rest of the solution is clear.

Did the glur oxidize to prevent ALL the filler from settling to the bottom, or is this normal?

Am I going to need to coffee filter?

yes that is normal. i always use the coffe filter when i make the fina to help capture the glue and binders.

Ok, you are a little unclear on this, but I'll give it a shot.

You should make sure all the fina is dissolved before adding oil.

Other than that, all you have stated looks fine. Now warm the solution, and put it through the sterile filter. You can use a coffee filter, if'n you want, but it's not necessary.

And it looks awful dirty until it goes through the sterile filter. Even after, it's normal to have a little bit of stuff go through and leave a very tiny layer of brown on the bottom. This is nothing to be worried about.

The gunk on the bottom is normal....regarding if you oxidized the glue...how hot was the water when you were swirling the magic solution in it? It should have been less than 150 degrees....in and out of the water until the pellets were completely desolved....with A's new kit you do not need the coffee filter.

I boiled the water (212), then swirled the solution in the boiled h2o. after the filler was dissolved, i let the vial sit in the water until it became room temp.

I think im going to use the coffee filter anyway, just to get all the excess shit outta there!

So you let it sit in the boling water for about 15-20 min then turned off the heat and let it cool....right

Bro I was wrong about 150...it should have not been hoter than 100....

I dug these steps up from A's instructions-------If I were you I would use the coffee filter.

3. Warm gently on the lowest heat possible on an electric burner, or use
boiled water. THIS SHOULD ONLY TAKE 5-10 min at most and any pills and
filler will be totally gone! Your solution will turn clear/gold and filler
will stick to sides and bottom.

4. Remove from heat and let cool to about room temp although the cool part
is that you shouldn't be much above 100F in the first place!

For simplicity sake I just soak the dissolving pellots in running hot tap water in a bowl while swirling for the last 15 minutes before the 1 hour mark. Does the trick.
Then transfer, turn the bottle over on its top, let the junk settle and draw up past the crud. Last 2 batches were great, but they were cloudy.

hey bro's. everything worked out ok.

today the soution is totally clear, and all the little 'fillers' are extrememly compacted at the bottom of the vial. its the best batch ive ever made.

i used a pill crusher to crush the pills before putting them into the soltution...that really helped!
