Weidman knocked that fucker out cold, then nailed him two more times just for the fun of it.
 
saw the seconds leading up to the knockout, not the whole fight. But you could see Weidman pulled a pimp move, he threw the punch before Anderson moved to that spot. It was a nice bit of anticipatory boxing I'm surprised no one with faster hands than Weidman hadn't caught Silva like that yet. It's hard to fault him for doing that bob and weave shit cause no one in about 10 years has solved it, but it's about time somebody put that dude on the floor.

Yes. He got knocked out. Not because Weidman is better, because Silva was being a careless dumbass.
 
Just watched a video clip...maybe it will humble silva a bit. He's a great fighter but kinda acting more and more like a douche bag

it always made my brain hurt that a lanky, soft-in-the-middle dude with child-bearing hips was so utterly dominant in a mano-a-mano combat sport...everything is right again in the world :)

nah...there were at least 4 very hard lefts there, right on the chin, one while they were on there feet and the other 3 on the ground that would have put just about anyone to sleep...he lost fair and square...and he looked like a tool while he was doing it too.
 
he got caught being stupid, that doesn't mean he threw the fight. Wasn't Dana "finally" trying to put together either a match between him and Bones or GSP? This loss hurts either of those future matchups.

Apparently Silva is opposed to a rematch, but Dana's already saying a rubber match will take place. I am pretty sick of all the rubber matches in the UFC.
 
If he went in there all-business like he did against Chris Leben and Rich Franklin, he would have kicked the shit out of Weidman.


Silva obviously lost due to his trying to be badass with his hands down, but we all know Silva is the better fighter.
 
No I think in the first round silva realized this wasn't going to be as easy as he thought. So then he tried by to pull Weidman out of his game by fighting like a ass and silva got caught, right on the chin. This is the ufc one punch just sneaks in and it's lights out. Silva is an arrogant ass.

i really think that him fuckin around is part of his game plan.. cause typically he'll do that shit and then work out the other dude's timing and throw a combo and it's over cause he's so accurate... if you saw how weidman threw that backfist punch right before he caught him that shit was money, even though it missed silva and it was weak, it set him up perfect for the KO right on his chin
 
Yeah I agree that is a go to strategy for him. But I have never witnessed him him doing it to the extent that he did the other day. That was way out there even for him. IMHO.

I don't think he really knew wtf he was saying. He still wants to fight but not for the belt? And at another point he sounded like he was retiring. His english needs work.

a rubber match would be the third match, btw

I did say "is" because I still fully believe he is better than Weidman.

Just because the Cubs win a few games in a clutch situation, that doesn't make them the best team in baseball.

Silva had his hands down the entire fight, showboating. If be didn't do that, Weidman didn't have a chance.

Watch him destroy his next opponent.
 
I've seen Silva put his hands down several times, against bigger names than Weidman, and Weidman was the only person who was actually able to capitalize on it.
 
He did capitalize, and hat off to him for that, but he is not a better fighter than Silva.

Cause I don't really like Spyder I hate to agree with this, but chances are Silva comes back and pwns Weidman. We all saw Sonnen dominate the fuck out of Silva and then the next fight Sonnen got taken out behind the shed. Silva has these lapses cause nobody's ever pushed him in that division. The guy who runs my bjj school told me that SIlva actually walks around at like 230 and just drops insane weight. If that's true it kind of makes his run at MW a little less impressive. He still would have been good I'm sure but I wonder what his carreer would have looked like at 205.

buff is making some valid points, he's not ball swinging like the guys at Sherdog though. If you think buff is bad go look at the Sherdog boards and count how many people claim irrefutable proof that Silva intentionally threw the fight. Like one guy claiming that if you slow the tape down you can tell that Silva purposefully bobbed to the right straight into Weidmans left hand.

he's 38 years old...he doesn't have many opponents left in him...the cubs can get a whole new roster next year...silva can't even get back the 10 seconds it took me to write this.

Way worse, I actually kind of like Rogan in doses. The Russians and Brazilians over there who can't write proper English irritate me the most. Constantly "fedor is GOAT", "Anderson is to suck yes?".
 
Credit where it's due I honestly didn't think Weidman had fuckall of a chance. People are acting like he was getting owned the whole match and then got a lucky flash knockout. Not so eh! Weidman probably won the first round on points. He had a beautiful takedown on Silva that 1st round.
