Fiber question

Hey guys, I was just wondering something. Do you guys count fiber as part of your daily carbs or do u subtract it?? Cuz i've been subtracting it because it doesn't really do much for you it just goes straight through right?

I count it. It's calories.

Technically, they are not digested absorbed and cannot be used by the body for energy. The American dietetic association recommends 25 - 35 grams of fiber a day. At that level you're looking at 75 - 100 calories of extra carbs a day, which can be used as a buffer zone if you think you may be underestimating carbs somewhere else. So I would count them too. The great thing about them is they make you feel very full. Sure you already knew that though!

If you were on a low cho diet like keto, ckd, etc where you had to count every carb you would subtract the fiber from the total carbs for that food item then count the remaining carbs left over (not fiber) toward your daily cho total. Does that make sense? lol

Sugar free orange metamucil is killer mixed with vanilla whey

Yeah southenlord it does make sense :P. Thanks for the responses. I think imma take the fiber out of my daily amount of carbs and just calculate how much fiber and add it as another categorie. but of course i do count it in my daily cals :).

Just the fact that you are counting and calculating your macros and kcal is great :artist:
