fat after a workout??

from what i understand, the reason for not eating fat after a workout is because dextrose or whatever carb source you choose will raise your insulin levels which will cause you to store fat (am i right on this part?). I'm on the anpb diet so I'm not having any carbs post workout, can I have peanut butter or is that still not a good idea?
 
The reason not to have fat post-workout is because it slows down fat and carbohydrate digestion and absorption.

did you mean protein and carbohydrates? If it's just carbohydrates, then if i'm having no carbs post w/o, fat should be ok right?
 
I meant protein and carbohydrates. Sorry. Presense of fat in a meal greatly slows dows the digestion of the overall meal.

And the point of protein post-WO is to refuel the muscle quickly. Adding fat to the meal will defeat the purpose of 'fast' protein.
 
i've always been a firm believer in dextrose post-workout, but i am doing the ANPB thing (well, mostly, but very low carbs regardless) and am going to try just the PB and protein post-workout... just to see what happens...

On your post workout shake you may need some high GI carbs to generate an insulin spike
