faster runs..

for starting speed I can think of really working with with olympic lifts such as power cleans, snatches and jumping squats also block jumping helps as well
 
running faster-- I agree w/Lord Sus & slobber suggested. Running longer is more improving your aerobic capacity-- like swimming, biking..etc.. its more about cardio training.
