Fahrenheit 9/11 = Amazing

Jaws was a good doc too.. kept alott of people out of the water for a long time...
 
too bad it isnt a real documentary. real documentaries have some semblance of fact and truth in them.

Since it has not come out yet, on June 25th, please point of the parts that are not based on facts.

Actually I would imagine you watched Bowling for Columbine--please point out the parts in that documentary that are not based on facts.

because many of the people who were interviewed for this 'documentary' said he did some creative editing (or just erased their entire response), so he could get the bite he was looking for.

and i'm glad you asked about 'bowling for columbine'...this thread hasn't been bumped in awhile.

I read it, printed it out, took a dump and wiped my ass with it. I think the attorney made some good points, but there was a good solid hour + of the documentary that he could not comment about-namely, how blacks are treated in this county, the corruption that occurs, how fear is used by corportations for consumption, etc, etc, etc, etc. He does a decent job to knock the film and makes some very good points but there was so much more it. And I hope you have watched it-if you have not you really should not even be commenting on it. And by the way the 911 documentary is 1000 times better than Bowling and has a very clear path from begining to end.

yes, he could have made a great documentary on american mass culture without skewing the facts, but he did skew the facts. the fact that he intentionally spliced different audio clips together with other video clips to change the meaning of the speakers words is appalling. this is not how documentaries work. it says a lot about his character too.

That would be dudette. I think the documentary contained some very good material. What the attorney forgot to say is that the film also contained many facts-he pretty much just focused on knocking the film by calling out a few facts and in doing that saying that the film as a whole is garbage because of the few things he found. I am tired, I must rest now.

Moore certainly isn't incredibly credible. But he's worth listening to.

I'm not exactly a proponent of everything President Bush stands for, but in the back of my mind I always thought Michael Moore was kind of a shithead.
The sad part is that I thought Bowling for Columbine was entertaining.
Doesn't the Motion Picture Academy know about this article, and about Moore sleazeball sensationalism?
If he can't follow the rules of the Academy, which is getting worse every year, then he doesn't deserve an award from them, no matter how much or little it means anymore.

I'll definitely watch Fahrenheit 9/11 but I admit Moore isn't really a good example for the left. He does bullshit, and that's damaging his credibility and indirectly the credibility of other leftists who criticize Bush.

He's a millionaire, but in one of his books, forget which one, he explains to Americans that we should give up the desire of wealth and accept modesty, as Europeans do. I am always amazed at fucks who make millions and then tell others don't waste your time, the odds are against you. If that fat piece of grease can do it, by what contortion of logic can one argue that others cannot?

His first movie (Roger and Me) was really good. Bowling for Columbine sucked and pissed me off. I guess I'm curious to see what his new one will be like.

I'm all for mocking fat people you know but the Moore is fat thing is kind of played out by now. If you want to criticize maybe focus more on content of his work than on his being fat it's not like you're telling anybody anything new

I agree, Moore being fat has nothing to do with his talent or credibility. People who attack him or his movies based on that come across as desperate.

That being said, Bowling for Columbine was a hacked up piece of shit that can not honestly be called a "documentary". His colorful editing of the facts has ruined any credibility or respect I'll ever have for the man. I will watch Fahrenheit because I am interested in what he has to say, but with a skeptical eye because I know what he is capable and willing to do to push forward his agenda: LIE THROUGH HIS TEETH. Hopefully this time he sticks to the facts instead of manufacturing them.

I agree.

There is no source I believe without questioning. People who make millions criticizing people are obviously no exception. But a person who critizes the establishment without any limits out of self interest or any fear of dissidence is always good. The whole Bush presidency puzzle is still a mystery to me and maybe this movie will put some pieces in place. It will probably horribly misplace other pieces.
