extreme pain on traps

my wife has been suffering from a deep trap pain specially on the right side, we have seen 3 different doctors, taken xrays, done massage therapy and nothing works, I was wondering if anyone ever went through the same, we just can't find out what the problem is.

More towards the shoulder? Sounds like a trapped nerve. If it was at the base of my both traps there's a nerve cluster there. I've irritated it by turning my head when training and with y arms overhead (lat pulls and or chins for example). It makes it a bitch to sleep for a few days.

Stuff like changing pillows on the bed and or how you sleep can help.
