excessive hair growth

i'm a first poster... :)

i've taken cycles of anavar and growth in the past. currently, i am on neither. stopped taking about 3 months ago. while i was on, i noticed that i had some darkening of body hair (on my arms and butt) and seemed to grow more facial hair. i don't mean to suggest that i look like a gorilla-- the hair is still light enough that it isn't overly visible unless you're sticking your face right on top of mine-- but i'm not comfortable with how it looks.

i realize that var can cause such a side effect, but i was taking a really mild dose-- 5-10 mgs/ daily. and i am not certain if the hair was already there but i just didn't notice it until now b/c i am exceptionally pale (i usually tan 2 x week, but have been a slacker in this category in the last few months, to the point of looking like casper the friendly ghost). i'm also 39 and have been on the pill for 20 years and have not had a period in 15 years (which my gyno knows about and says is perfectly normal for me). so i don't know if the hair thing is a result of the drugs or if it's because of aging and possibly early menopause...

any ideas? further...will it ever go away or is this something i'm gonna have to live with for the rest of my life?

My guess would be the darkening (and possibly thickening) is a result of the androgen cycle. The hair alterations take time to come to fruition because the changes are occurring down in the follicle so it will take 2-3 months for them to grow out.

Regarding the effects of menopause, if your progesterone (P) levels are low there will be less antagonizing of the androgen receptors. (P will block some of the AR's) That means the anavar you took would potentially have a more powerful anabolic effect than it would on a woman who was getting a regular period and had higher P.
