Thanks bud. Last summer I ran a test/eq/var cycle. Loved it. I'm starting to do some serious research in NPP. I know Bruce is a big fan of it.

My back used to be stubborn, but then I realized what's entailed in really blasting the shit out of it. It sucks. It's just like legs. Unless you leave the gym nauseated and gasping for air you haven't done it right. But you are dead on with the exercises. Just keep the weights HEAVY, and reps in the 6-8 range on your top sets. Just stick with the basics like you said. I'd have to say BB rows and one arm DB rows are king, although I love me some T-bar rows too. Just make sure you squeeze your lats on the DB rows. With BB rows as long as you're stretching at the bottom and pulling the weight into your gut your back can't help but grow. The only cable movements worth doing are low rows and pulldowns. I have come to really appreciate heavy behind the neck pulldowns (stole that secret from Kevin Levrone). They target the area of interest much more than front pulldowns, and after you get used to them you shold be able to pull just about as much weight as you're accustomed to with fronts. Also reverse grip pulldowns are great too. If you do those save them till the end, they fry your biceps.

Oh and btw, I found a very old pic of me. I don't even remember when it was, but I think I was 225-230 or so, all natty. I'm 280 now, and among other things, my chest has come a long way from the poor excuse it is in this pic.

Thanks very much bro. I appreciate the kind words. It's funny that even though I was 230 natty, my last show I was 228, but obviosuly a lot bigger and a LOT leaner...

And yea I actually enjoy tanning but walkin around all golden brown in the middle of the winter (unless you're planning to go away on vaca) is silly. I actually need to visit the derm before I do though. I have a few moles/birth marks on my back that are starting to look a bit suspicious. I just want to get them removed before I get back into it.

7 yrs living in the South Pacific and now on the equator has kicked the shit outta my skin.

We should start a "Big Bro's Monthly Progress Pics Thread" => at the start of every month everyone must show a pic to be part of the "group". Wouldn't this be great motivation since we have mucho respect for each other here......you would want diet, training to be on point all the time so when its time to post on the 1st of the month you feel proud and no shame.........what do ya think?

I think we should up the ante and move it to the "Pictures of Men" forum for the real feedback most of the dudes are concerned about. Yes that's right bro's, the opinions of women from around the world who you will probably never meet but still want to know if they'd go to town on you if they ever got the chance...

LOL, seriously though, I think that wouldnt be a bad idea. But for some it might be slightly counterproductive and discouraging, as a job/school/relationship/life might get in the way for a while and de-rail someone's gains. It's happened to all of us at one point or another I'm sure. But hey, that's just my $.02. I think it's a good idea. I thrive on friendly competition. And I'm tired of telling myself I suck. I want others to do it for me. :p

You're right. Sadly the AAS forum gets the most views, so I guess it's best to keep it here if it ever gets off the ground.

Sheesh... I used to be self-conscious about the fact that I weigh in much less than most guys on here (185 lbs), but took comfort in the fact that I'm 5'7"... now with all this talk about short fukkers and being "stumpy", etc... now I'm self-conscious about my weight *AND* my height!

Alot of good things going on here fellas, its nice to see some positive feedback. Its nice to put physiques to members..... Its kinda funny, when I dont see a pic of someone, i kinda imagine what they would look like....for instance, i always thought Boston would be some big ol hairy pirate looking guy (hah srry dude, i dont know why)...and ol farte, well srry but I imagined some skin danglin!! but hell, no way, you boys are in some tip top shape....good things!!. Great thread Ihulk-by the way your a monster!! I hope to be in your shape someday!! Anywho, this is a current pic of me, right now...sitting around 200-205, 6'2, not sure about bf. 6 ft + guys like us have to put overtime into eating/bulking to fill out. Then it just gets even harder trying to shape the statue and create cuts and lines. Your traps look like they got crazy potential bro. You got a nice base to work with.
 
Here's a recent pic of me 01/07/07 and my workout partner for last 3 months.

Training with him has pushed me to work out harder, eat more, and rest more to grow. Strength has improved drastically as well as growing too. Hope to improve my physique this year.

Both of us are 6'0, but i'm 200lbs mid 30's, not too bad for an asian guy, and he's 226lbs late 20s

Your boy is 6'0" 226?? Does he train legs at all??? With an upper body like that at that height he should be at least 15 lbs heavier. Still looks great though.

Pics were from 01/07/07....legs are not as comparable to his upper body, but getting there. We train legs once a week, ass to floor squats, leg presses, sled, leg extensions, calf raises. he's put on size since then.
 
Well dont worry, for most legs are the biggest challenge and take years to develop. The strength comes way before the size, unfortunately, but it's still somewhat encouraging. Just need to put the effort in the same as upper body and feed the muscle. Best of luck to both of you guys.
 
Here's one from today. Be nice bro's, I've been on less than 100 grams of carbs for about 2 weeks now. This is about as flat and soft as I get (this way my next pic I post will look that much better, lol).

You can actually compare to the pic in my profile. My arms are a good inch smaller at rest than they were a month ago. But I also dropped my test dosage way down. Bah, no more excuses. I yam what I yam.

yep i'm cutting, and for the first time I'm cutting with very little concern as to losing size. I dont lose size easily, but my calories are less than they should be, but it's working fine. Strength and endurance are wonderful, I feel great, and no regrets if I lose a smidgen of size. No idea on BF. All i know is im 270 @ 5'10" and wear size 36 Kenneth Cole slacks. That probably means nothing but I dont have a bf number for you. I'll get clipped at 250 to see where I'm at. Even so I go by the mirror and waist size. Bf is just a number to throw around. I carry my weight in my lower body anyway..

was wondering cause one of the absolute hardest things to do to is get freaky big but also be chiseled. There's a lot of big powerlifters that I know but they don't have BB'er type bodies --> but hey got massive strength & size.
Just curious in your situation if you were one of those magazine monsters? Or if you're working on that? lol
 
lol I'm just shy of my 25th bday, and im not Phil Heath, so no magazine monster yet. But I have big legs, which is a good thing, but from the pic I showed nobody would guess 270 if I said I was 5'10" in a million years. I also have a lot of thickness whereas most guys have width. So my body is pretty unique, but I usually look about 20 lbs lighter than I actually am. THat pic was ice cold too. I actually cramped up after it lol. My arms still look good pumped, and they're getting more vascular (esp in the triceps) day by day. Cutting is fun. You can see results much faster than bulking, and you never have to worry if your "gains" are fat, lol. And as far as being huge and ripped, nobody, even the pro's, are both at the same time for any extended period of time. HAve you ever seen some of these guys' off season pics?? Jay diets almost year round, but Ronnie, Lee, Dennis James, omg they are disgusting in the off season. So you pick your battles as just do what makes you happy.
