Ever see any old friends?

Does anyone ever see any old friends like who they went to school with or college?

Do they comment on how different you now look (assuming you've been training long enough to look significantly different) what are their reactions like?

Just asking as I had never seen anyone I went to school with for 8 years now, then in the space of a week I saw and spoke to 2 people (I was the one who recognised the other both times). It was strange as I knew them both for about 12 years and we were in a lot of the same classes and mingled a lot outside school also. But when I spotted them and asked the inevitable "excuse me are you....(name)?" I received a "yes" then a blank stare and "who are you?". At 195lbs I am not that big, but compared to my old 140lbs at 17years old it's a lot different especially as my bf is lower also.

Anyway the one old friend I actually saw in the gym so we had a talk about training, it was strange she was great looking but all I seemed to be able to stare at were her shoulders and upper arms as I could really see some muscular development there. :xeye:

Does anyone else ever see people they haven't seen for years? and I Imagine with the size some of you guys have achieved they must be in "Shock and Awe" to coin a phrase. Do you talk about your training when they mention how different you look?

LOL..great post. I've yet to see anybody i hadn't seen for a while in my gym but....

Friday nights when i'm up the town, i've twice bumped into people I hadn't seen in a while 1 lad 1 lass. Both reactions were different.

The lad was like "FUCK what have you been taking man, your huge, FUCK" "I was pretty big this time last year two, but i lost it all" that sort of stuff.

The girl was feeling my pecs and arms giggaling with her friend "feel this vicky oh my god feel that" I was in heaven mate, and I went home with her"

It is the best ego boost in the world, we are putting the work in, it's enough to keep you going. People you live with don't notice the changes in you as much because they see you everyday, but those people you bump into really give you a boost.

yeah, one kid i worked with last year saw me at the gym, but didnt realize it was me till we started work again. Also the other guys at work said i either got taller, lost weight, and/or put on some size. I have yet to see that many people from high school.

A year and a half ago, I was around 260, and I was going to a new years party to see a girl I haven't seen for several years. We were great friends during high school and for a few years afterwards. I was totally in love with her for all those years, and she was always 'the one that got away' for me. It was one of those situations where I didn't want to jeopordize our friendship, so I never said anything. When she walked through the door at the party, she instantly saw me, and her jaw dropped. She gave me a big hug and said "oh my god, its like hugging a big rock." I don't train for looks, but man was that a great feeling. Anyway, we're engaged now.

Ha Ha Thaibox, She DID`NT get away, Did she?

I`ve had the good fortune to be surrounded by all physically fit friends. I mean to say they all worked out and knew the importance of it and the work it took.
So, when I see them now it`s not a puzzled look or anything, they just know I`ve still been working out AND CAN APPRECIATE my work ethic. because they come from the same place.
It feels better to me when someone in the game compliments me rather than a "nonlifting" person. It just means more from them, not to put down the nonlifters but they are impressed more easily, I think.

Great story man...

I actually got an email about my 10 year high school reuinion. It was from one of my classmates from the high school I went to through 10th grade (we moved before my junior year)...but I was invited anyway...since everyone in the class knew me since kindergarden. If I get the chance to go I will see people that I haven't seen in 12 years. When I left that school I was 170lbs....and when I return I will be 280 or so...so IF I get the chance to go it should be fun if nothing than for the shock value.

i hope to be one of those guys, but just for now need to stay a little smaller, i cant be 240, 250 and expect to be as quick and nimble as if i were 210-215.

Great stories though!!!

Went to my 15 yr HS reunion a couple of years ago and it was priceless to see the jaws drop. I was 270# @ !)% BF with a head full of hair!! Almost all of the guys I played ball with had a gut and a head full of skin!!!!

These are great stories I've enjoyed them. I get those comments alot from guys. I'm always afraid they are checking me out, sick.
