Estrogen and bloating

Anyone take estrogen? I have to take it because of my age and I am always feeling bloated. Any one else have this experience?

I take ovral birth control. It is the highest dose birth control made. It has .5mg of estrogen... And I can tell a major difference in me and my body. I really have to watch what I eat and I always feel bloated.. It is miserable... I am contemplating on coming off birth control... I just dread getting regulated... :(

"Regulated"?

I can't say enough good things about sympto-thermic ovulation tracking. What you do is figure out when you're ovulating, don't have sex (or simply use barrier methods) around it, and voila, worry-free boot-knockin'. I'd rather be abstainent for the rest of my life or get a hysterectomy than ever go on the pill again. All of you who can tolerate them - especially high dose ones - have my respect.

I have never heard of an "age" where a woman HAS to take estrogen. Is there a specific complaint or symptom that you are taking the estrogen for?

Other than that, estrogen for perimenopausal symptomss does not need to be nearly as high as OCs. If you must take estrogen, try taking the lowest dose you can and maybe consider topical application natural estrogen.
