Ergogenics for elite 800 meter runner.

muscle builders not banned by the IOC

I am training an elite female 800 meter athlete who has olympic potential and only has a few seconds to shave before she can qualify. I am CSCS and HFI certified with a few years of collegiate and proffessional strength and conditioning coaching under my belt. I am an experienced AAS user and know the IOC bans most AAS type ergogenic aids. I currently have her on 5+ grams of Beta Alanine which has shaved a few seconds off her time. She also takes 5-7 grams of creatine per day to help recover during the repeated bouts of sprinting. She gave Sodium BC a shot but her stomach wouldnt tolerate it. Much of my research has pulled some aids up that could have potential such as Rhodiola, Cordyceps, HMB, Colostrum, L-Histidine, Citrulline Malate, and KIC. I knew the women who would know the most about ergogenics werent runners but would be bodybuilders, fitness girls and powerlifters. So ladies what are your thoughts on muscle builders and performance enhancers for an 800 meter athlete? Remember mass isnt really the goal and it will have to fall within the rules of the IOC. 800 meters is an odd distance, its not a sprint and its not an endurance event. You have to run at 80% for 600 meters then push up to 100% for the final 200. It takes a high VO2 combined with a great ratio of moderate and fast motorunits. High VO2 and fast motor units dont usually come in pairs. Her V02 is great and her fast units are great but a touch more is needed.

Look at the world record holder, she set record well before testing was main stream. http://www.toucan-athletic-club.com/img/kratochvilova.jpg

She was no doubt on AAS at the time and her time has stood for 26 years now. Many of the modern day champions are still using banned substances and pretty much all of them take tons of non banned ergogenics.

Thank you in advance and I look forward to what you all can bring to the table.

Either i asked a poorly phrased question or there arent many sups out there that help build muscle within IOC regulations. Any ladies given tribulus a shot? I have only found research on females using it in infertility trials, i didnt see anything on performance for females. Any new myo blockers or methoxy flavs that work for females? My knowledge of supps was formed using males as the focus, im sure there has to be a compound out there that is useless to most males but works for females... I could definetly be wrong though. Again I appreciate your efforts in advance

This looks like a fun little thread babe. I will deff come back to it in the morning. Its 130am where I am at. I took a need2sleep and its lights out time.

But I like where thi is going and welcome to ef.

fadogia on my first look into says it doesnt do much. Any women with some feedback on their experiences? Also i am a male strength and conditioning coach for a female athlete, i noticed i got the plat up grade for free and was called "babe". Just clarifying

Have any of you females gotten results from high quality tribulus? I havent see any performance increase for males using it.

I'm not sure i've seen many of the women who post here regularly having experience with the kinds of things the IOC would allow...but with your plat, you can run searches in the archives that might turn up some answers.

yeah im noticing that. I have used the recently and have picked up on some useful info for my athlete. Does anyone have any recommendations for a pre workout stimulant? I think it would be great for her pre race, get or her 100% focused and ready to blow it out.

"The banned drugs in this category include: amphetamines, beta2 agonists, ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, fencamfamine, cocaine, methamphetamine, mesocarb and other substances."

Anyone?
