Equal Vs. Splenda on diet?

Is it ok to use equal or splenda when on a pre contest diet. I was adding it too my oatmeal and stuff and it was great, but then I heard that your body treats the maltodextrin in it like sugar and spikes your insulin...is that true?? Thanks

I would definately pick Splenda between the two. Splenda, which is a brand name for sucralose, tastes so much better, almost like any sugar sweetened product. One of the many reasons products like bottled Isopure, Grow by biotest, the new designer whey low carb bars and the protein factory's ion exchanged whey with added Splenda taste so good. These are just examples and I'm sure the big supplement companies will come out with better tasting low carb products because of this amazing sweetener. I use it in oatmeal, coffee or anything else that I use to put sugar in. Equal can't even compare in taste.

Jack,

Splenda is material proof of the existance of a compassionate God.

Equal is not.

Just my way of saying that Splenda rocks!
