Encouragement needed...

Hey girl! Welcome to EF -- as far as changes in bf & lean muscle mass - it takes your body a few weeks to adapt to major changes in your diet & activity. The thing is to not look for the changes but just focus on keeping the activities going on a consistent & regular basis.

Hun, your road to greatness is NOT going to be a long one with stats like that and BF and LBM past stats that you've mentioned.

I'm with everyone else here -- 3 weeks in, 3 weeks out... get some measurements goin' NOW (though having the pants as a guideline is fun too). When I started, I wasn't allowed to look at the scale for 6 weeks because it IS all your head in terms of what you see!

You could be feeling super hot and trim one morning, hop on the scale, see it say 130 (in your case) or 132 or something... and just totally turn your attitude around.

I've been there -- I know that game! :qt:

Keep it up, take the advice from the ladies. My "advice" would be... well, suggestion... you will get the most from your HIIT if they are first thing in the morning... is that a possibility for you to do? That way, you will be burning fat at the most opitmal time of day... and that fat loss is eventually what's going to let those awesome muscles of yours come out of hiding.

Also -- is 2 days a week of HIIT enough? Just curious to see what some of the other girls here say. I know Ulter told me that when I get to goal, instead of 7 days a week of my morning walk (60 min.)... I'll be able to maintain my weight doing 30 minutes every other day or 3 days a week. Maybe add a smidge more cardio?

I think we need to start a LOGGGGGGGGGGG!!! :D

Thanks again - I'm going to up my cardio to 3 30-min HIIT sessions and 3-4 hour long walks (I keep the dogs going as fast as they can!) a week. I do enjoy the HIIT, really destresses in a way that the long and droning cardio never did.

I've read that morning cardio is best, but I've never been able to get myself out of bed early. I have a long commute, so another hour in the a.m. would mean getting up before sunrise....... and I know I'd never stick to it. Maybe once the diet and weight training have become a habit I'll be ready to make a new habit - being a morning person!

I hear ya - stepping on the scale can totally crush my ego like nothing else. Makes no sense - since I know it could be water, or a crappy scale, or any number of other things - but logic rarely prevails ;)

I'm up for starting a log, especially since it will make me accountable to someone other than myself! My husband is very supportive and cheers me on, but he doesn't really get what the big deal is since weight, fitness and food are total non-issues in his world. :)
