LOOK UP AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE ABOVE THE TITS AND ASS BANNER YOU'LL SEE SOME LINKS AND ON THE RIGHT ONE OF THEM SAYS "FREE ENCRYPTED EMAIL". CLICK ON IT AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO GET AN ELITEFITNESS EMAIL ADDRESS.

Listen to what he says -- its free and for your own good!

I'm having a problem with my elite mail. I recently have switched to Internet explorer from Netscape. Internet explorer is not letting me acces my account. I type in my name, then it brings me to the password page but all it ever shows is a grey box covering most of the screen. The little box for entering your password never shows up.
Can anybody help? I am really going to be backed up on e-mails now :(

I didn't realize that you could send encrypted to and from Hushmail... I would have gotten an elite email sooner, but I figured since most people had hushmail I'd just stick with that...
Elitemail was an awsome idea, George! It's been around for months now, but I've just come to realize that.

Organon is right i'm having problems also .everytime i enter my name it shoots me over to hushmail...hopefully i'll have things corected over the weekend................RADAR :)

I'm confused

So you can comminicate safely b/w EliteFitness E-mail and Hushmail? I thought Hushmail was only secure communicating with other Hushamail accounts? Please explain.

Elitemail uses hushmail's encryption....

Go set up an account and you'll see what I mean.

Sadly, Elitefitness's mail system uses the Hushmail engine ...... hence all of Hushmail's problems come along with it.

Hushmail is frequently down and has problems.

Hushmail is very picky about what version of JVM you have on your Windoze system.

Hushmail will NOT work on Macs (unless you use something like Virtual PC). This sucks.

I love this site, I wish George the best from in his business, but basically, what you are paying for is the Elitfitness domain name as part of your e-mail address. All of Hushmail's problems come along with the service.

I think getting an e-mail addy such as that is cool, and great for whoever wants one. But if you are NOT using the correct flavor of Windoze, or if you happen to be one of the many many millions of Mac users, you are out of luck.

Too bad they cannot somehow use the ziplip engine - that works much better actually.

mail

I realize I am not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to computers, but I don't see "free e-mail" from elitefitness. When I tried to open an account I was told to pay 24.00 dollars slashed to 11.97 per annum. While I wrote a check and mailed it off anyway, I would still like to know where the free mail is just out of curiosity:D

Still a great deal.... but I am open to learning what I missed....

Thanks....

If you click Sign Up, you get an account for free. Right now, we are running a special on The Platinum Accounts. You get 25 Mb of Storage instead of only 6 for $11.97

Details are here:

Try upgrading to the latest version of Explorer. If this does not help, just give us a call on Monday.

I used to be a big Mac fan, but sadly, they account for less that 3% of our traffic. Netscape is now less than 14%. I think this is probably the way of most sights now.

I appreciate everyone's support that paid for a Platinum account -- a real value for only $11.97 a year, but we do have a free version that I hope users will consider too if they do not have $11.97 for the Platinum version. Just click sign up to get started.

Sorry Geore, let not get into anti-Mac basing - ok? You'll lose.

Maybe the reason you see so little traffic is becuase you don;t address Mac issue and Netscape issues that much. Focus on PeeCees and Int Explorer and guess what customer ramain around ...... ?????? any ideas?

Besides .... being part of the "mases" does not hold much weight with me and many of your customer base. Telling a bro on here that he has a body that is more fit than maybe 75% of the population is not too much of a compliment. Tellling a 3woman she has a better proportion that the average US female, who is 5'4" and 143 lbs, is not a compliment, or much of a goal for that matter.

Claiming that some segement of your customer base is not worth addressing becuase it only represents 15-20 of web users does not seem to be much of a good business argument.

I drive a Porsche, by your logic, I should rive a Toyota becuase they sell more.

Make you decision George, that fine. I respect that. Make business choices. I was simply pointing out what is true in my post. Most people are well aware of the limitations of husmail, and I think the fact that Elite bascially just uses Hushmail should be a little more apparenet when your Elite-mail service is discussed.

And, please, this site is FULL of people who strive to be the exception. Quoting numbers and making claims that some percent is not worth addressing is maybe not the best move.

But do what you want, I respect that. Its your site.

Dave,

We certainly wish the Hush engine worked with the Mac and worked better with Netscape.

I know that Netscape has problems with the Hush engine because of the way the Netscape browser allocates memory.

Do you know why the Hush engine does not work with Mac? I thought it was because Mac was not really able to run a JAVA applet, but I do not really know much more than this. Do you know more about this?

Also, does anyone know if the Hush engine will run on Linux?

I'll do that now, I will let you know when it's completed. As alway's, thanks!

Macs and the Use of Hushmail

Version 9, and lower versions of the Mac OS, have a limited implementation of Java support.

Although I am not familiar with the technical details (I believe the issue is that they will run Javascript but not Java Apps, OR the issue is that the version of Java that they do support is somewhat old and limited..... I am not sure) the bottom line is that under version 9 (including all variants of OS such as 9.1, 9.0.4, etc) some small subset of Java based apps and web page extensions will not function correctly.

This includes Hushmail - it will NOT work on a Mac under OS 9 (or under), regardless of the browser.

Under version 9, there IS a solution for Mac users, and that is to use Virtual PC. Virtual PC allows the Mac to fully emulate a PC and run various OS's on it (and in fact is in many ways more stable than an actual PC is). I have used this method to access Hushmail from my Mac and it works fine. Virtual PC is somewhat slow (it IS an emulator after all) but it does work, and when using a newer G4 based Mac (which are uncannily fast) it is very very useable. (I have an older G3 so this solution works, and is stable and reliable, but not very fast).

The new Max OS X MAY work with Hushmail - I have not tried it directly. Given its UNIX underpinnings, and the OS's ground-up focus on compatibility with such things as Java, I believe it should work. I however do not have firsthand knowledge of this.

Quit bitching. Minorities don't run things. This site is free. If you want to help him to be able to extend services to others, then by all means go ahead, I'm sure he'd appreciate it. This man is doing a great service to us and should not surcomb to ridicule because he is not spending time and money to change for a very slim majority of people and to scratch every itch on your little nuts. If you had paid for a service and was unable to benefit from it, this would be a different matter. However, you did not, and you are bitching about something that is given to you for free. If you were homeless and someone brought you a weeks worth of groceries, you'd probably complain because there was no sirloin steak and caviar.... Show some respect.
