anyone tried this? I heard about it first on Cosmo radio and then heard about it in the money saving segment of my local news...all in one week!?!? It stood out enough for me to rembember to look into it anyway...

anyone heard of it or tried it?? the cosmetics are like a buck a piece!! Too good to be true?

Yeah...true... lol. I didnt think of that. Maybe I should just try 20 bucks worth and let everyone know what I think. lol

If anything, I could just buy some cheap makeup brushes and tools. I hate paying a fortune for stuff like that.

I'm kinda extreme with makeup. Usually none but MAC when I do wear it. It's actually really cheap if you only wear it every couple of months.
Try the elf and let us know.... since local for you is local for me. I always need to save a buck.
Since I don't wear much makeup, I also check out ways to get samples. They last me a while and free is a good price. Mascara is the only thing I buy more than maybe once a year. That's just because you need to change those out a bunch .... if you don't want an eye infection.
The Sephora they just put in our mall sure doesn't help with makeup addiction, lol. bastads.

I am not gonna knock it cause I haven't tried it. However, I will add that looking at it reminds me of AVON makeup. I don't wear make up often, though I was makeup queen when I was younger. This stuff sure looks good for $1 but my thoughts are that it may rub off which would lead to the need to apply tons through out the span of the day??

I know this will sound cheezy but when I was young I used Revlon make-up and never had a problem. The eyeshadows, lip colors, pencils were fine. I never wore foundation/powder... and then I got old. LOL As you age and your skin loses its elasticity the makeup won't go on as easily, it cakes and bunches and shmears making you look even older!

Gaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh

That is why when I do wear make-up it is all MAC now either that or shishiedo. The mascara does need to be changed out frequently, tis true. Gets all clumpy and gloggy. Nothing worse than tarantula eyes - looks sooooo high school.

I have found though, that better brand glosses *feel better* on your lips in that they don't bunch up and make your lips dry. Is it just me or have others found this to be the case?

+1 on the lip gloss "feels better" if it's a better brand. I LOVE lip gloss. ESPECIALLY good lip gloss. I don't really even count it as makeup. I wear lipgloss prolly every single day. I use it like some people use chap stick.... but only if it's GOOD lip gloss.
Oh, and +1000000 for MAC.

My sister sent me a link in an email about E.L.F cosmetics. I decided to give it a go and order some. It's actually not that bad.

I tried some Elf socmetics a couple years back & wasn't impressed. The prices are great but, the staying power was horrible. I tried a lipgloss & some eye shadow. The gloss didn't stay on my lips for long & smelled funny & the eye shadows didn't look nice in sunlight. They also do not last long on your lids, even with primer under. I'd rather pay more for quality, imo
