electric or hand razor

Which do you guys prefer? I have a braun electric and a mach 3 turbo. The braun is good for cleaning up but for a close shave i feeel i need to go with the mach 3 most of the time. (shaving once with the grain then once against)

I haven't tried the newer electrics. I had a norelco but I had to ditch it around the time I turned 18, My facial hair started growing in a lot coarser and thicker. So, I be using thew Mach3 turbo action. And sometimes I will do an uphill run if I need it to be ultra smooth (like when I meet up with girls).

i have an elec for when i'm really on the run, barely ever


always mach3 with the grain if just doin a regular shave

with and against grain if i want a good one

oh, and once old m3 blades arent good on the face anymore they get recycled into the body hair blades where they are good for atleast another month or two

and no, shick quattro doesnt even compare

i thought the quattro was better? i was gonna go out and get one to try it out. so i should stick with the m3 turbo? I really like having soft skin...cuz if i rub my hand against the grain on my face after shaving with it (the grain) i feel all this stubble even right after a shave.

I love the Gillette. I get the blades off Ebay for about half the price. But yeah, unless you go back over (after applying more shave gel) you won't get it all the way down.

how do you make that perfectly straight line for the side burns?

seems damn near impossible to edge w/ that razor.....

when i used to use the mach 3 regular i had a gillete sensor excel specifically for edging

I second that, I was not impressed with the quatro. The mach 3 is the way to go. As for edging with it. I just pick a reference point along my ear and do the same thing on the other side. Seems to me that the reference point is about 1/8th of an inch high.

note, if your face is misshapen or your ears aren't symetrical, this may not work for you

I shave with the m3 and then edge my sideburns with my electric.

Same, I edge with a trimmer.

I also have problem geting in close under my nose, that little pad thingy always makes it hard.

probably off the original thread, but related none the less, what type of trimmer do you use? My battery is running low and i need to invest in a new one..
