Elbow joint and inner muscle pain

Goat23

New member
Wrong forum but I trust you guys,I can't fucking curl pain in the inner arm right in line with elbow joint but on the inside.between forearm and bicep.no pain until it's bent like a curl!what the hell can I do for arms!

Try the following,
Hammer curls, direct work.
Close grip chin ups, direct work.
Bent over BBL Rows, indirect work.
Do you use a curl bar or a str8 bar?

Kind of having same issue right now bro, but mostly impeding me from doing triceps...biceps are fine. I did arms this morning and actually had to muscle through the discomfort until the tendon got warmed up and then it was ok. The weight suffered, but just made sure I worked the muscle good. Zed has given you some good options, tendinitis sucks but have to learn to train through it. Just try different exercises and see which ones aggravates it less.

Ok so. Muscle a dont take this the wrong way but let me explain to you whats going on w your arm and the origional posters arm. The area you are describing is not a tendon. Its a ligament. Its the ucl ulner colateral lig. Ever heard of tommy john syndrome or surgery. Its when the ucl ruptures. I know this because i am a ball player And currently i have a strained ucl and thats where i hurt when throwing and lifting. My sports medicine dr put me on twice a week physical therapy. Where all they do is rub that area hard as fuck. And let me tell u it hurts then blast it w ultrasound. My pt guy is an ex pitcher he insisted i play and workout with a compression sleeve it provides support for my ucl to prevent furhter injury. Plz listen to me you DO NOT want to ignore this pain. If u rupture that lig u will b down for an entire year as tommy john surgery is devastating. The reason it hurts from your forarm past ur elbow to bicep is because the ucl is attached to the bone in your forarm and also attaches to the bone in your upper arm providing stability for your elbow. And yes if u have a ucl problem it will hurt when curling and even when doing triceps. The reason is your body knows that your ucl is hurt and it is trying to use other surrounding tissues to support it ie forarm muscle your biceps tendon your tricep. Both of you plz b careful. Best thing to do and this from my very trusted pt guy. Wear a compression sleeve when lifting and also in my case when throwing. Then when ur done immediatly ice it. Hope this helps.

KA I truly appreciate the feedback and concern and will def have my Chiro and PT check it out as well...the pain I am mostly experiencing is right on my elbow joint, inside of the arm. I.was performing behind the neck 2 hand DB tricep extensions (110lb) and felt almost a tearing feeling and then it went warm...I do ice and Ibuprofen when it is giving me problems, and am cautious when I lift...but definitely thanks for your insight bro...no do not want to deal with any surgery and will do whatever it takes for it to heal...by the way my friend, you called me son in another post lol, were you born pre 1970?

Lol no. I was born in 74. Im in california. We say son and kid. Where u wud use words like bro. Its just a cordial way of saying buddy. And ya thats the ucl kid. "Lol sorry cant help it." i would do a ucl stretch before working out wear a compression sleeve for a few weeks it helps and also ice after workouts whether u have pain or not. Inflamation even when it isnt painful slows down healing.

Thanks son...sorry, have 4 years on ya brotha lol! In NorCal myself...so know the lingo. I will do the stretching and have been looking for a compression sleeve at local stores with no luck so far, will have to check sporting goods store next, then online as last resort. I will have my chiro look at it, he is really in tune with me and all my chronic tweaks...thanks bro for the feedback!

I grabbed a sleeve today, made by McDavid, has an elbow pad and is a compression sleeve...XL, couldn't get the large past my forearm lol...the guy at the store was lol, said "wish I had your problem"...which one did you get? The Adidas one was a full sleeve, did not give enough support.

Thats a good one but its for basketball hence the elbow pad. I use the addidas recovery sleeve. My arms are only 16.5" around so it fits. Lol im not huge like u but it supports me great.

No good??? The other one I wanted said for tennis elbow, but did not have a XL...and didn't want a full sleeve, this gives some pretty good support, the pad is nice considering when I do bump my elbow on something the pain sends me through the roof!!! I did train chest this morning without it, elbow was bugging me and hindered me from doing heavy presses, so will try this out tomorrow morning for shoulders.

Thats really more a support soft brace. It will do the job. The full sleeve is better. But if that helps u and protects it then go for it. I use the addidas full sleeve cuz its tight and has an x support on the in er elbow plus i need as non bulky as possible because im a ball player and the soft braces are uncomfortable for me. But that shud actually work good for you since you r only lifting

I was going with your recommendation bro and tried that Adidas sleeve but too much for lifting, which is why I opted for the one I got...hopefully it will do the trick. Icing my elbow now, didn't push too hard on BB Bench today, just 225 lbs for reps, 100 lb DB for Incline Press, and did other exercises that didn't aggravate it too bad. Thanks for all your input bro...true brother!!!

It shud work fine. The icing and pt helps the most. So it can heal. The brace just makes sure you dont rupture it till it heals. Good choice on backin down the weights that will help it heal.

Hey guys!muscle add I got one like yours the full sleeve felt to much lol mine even has special magnets ; ) worked a treat lifting furniture today as well got chest and tri later tonight I'll keep you posted! Lol whod thought a bball player would help us lol thx man true bro

A bball player. Lol geez. I know im not a huge muscle head but i got my uses. Lol. Glad it helped. I actually just hurt myself pretty bad tonight in a game. Strained the shit out of my calf. Probly out 4-6 weeks as its a grade 2 strain. Not good.

Damn bro...sorry to hear, looks like you will have some time here then huh? Thanks for all of your help bro!

Ya. My season is done probly lookin more like 5-8 weeks recovery. So when i can actually STAND and WALK i am hittin the gym like a motherfucker to get ready for spring. So pissed off right now was having a great game too. First at bat hit a 3 run bomb ou of the stadium. Then a double. Robbed like three or four basehits and then last at bat hit a laser over the centerfielders head off the wall went to take off sprinting to round first and POW!! It was like i got stabbed in the calf. And i pulled up hopping and now its done. So angry. 35 years playing sports. I have never missed a game.

Wow, you had a great game...unfortunately shit happens bro, and usually for a reason...whatever that reason may be, even if it isn't clear to us at that moment. I remember having a partial Achilles Tendon tear a couple years back, was running stairs at the football field and was concentrating on pushing off with my calves and then it went...same thing as you, hopping around in pain. Took lots of PT and massage to get it back, guess just a minor setback, but was able to pull through and during recovery spent a lot of time with my little girl, so there was a reason! She helped me heal and recover!!! Rest and heal bro, you will be fine...sucks now, but what can you do!

A gym caddy!!! When I open my gym that is one of my ideas, could use one on leg day to unload the leg press :D...if you want to discuss cycles just PM me.

when did the pain start? do you know what caused it? I think these are more important questions for you to figure out that try to work through the pain. There's a diff between pain caused by soreness and pain caused by injury.
