EF Sam - How does recharing from karma work?

Sometimes it seems like I can zap forever. Other times I only seem to be able to hit 2 people and I'm out. How many karma points do we have? How many people can we hit? And how long does it take to recharge?

And this is meant as a legit question - not a karma thread - so ignore the monkey gallery that will sign on below.
 
For instance.. today it seems like it only let me shoot 4 people. I know I have done more then that before in one day.

I feel like coming out of retirement all of a sudden!
 
No gallery here, either.

I have a question about the mega-zap - if I hit someone with it 8 times for example, is it only about a point at a time, or is it the same amount that I'd normally shoot times 8?

This is exactly why I ask. It says on the karma description page that you can hit 20 people a day. I can usually only hit 10. How long do I have to recharge to be able to hit 20?
 
I've noticed that it says you get a point for every i guess 100 karma points... for every certain amount of posts and so on... but rarely do people hit for as much as they should be hitting for... maybe the whole karma system is ineffective...

oh and i AM part of the "monkey gallery".

Nada. This isn't a karma thrad and fortunately people haven't foolishly started sending karma. Recharging is an isue we've all been trying to find out about.
 
Yeah guys, lets not take away from the importance of the question by shooting karma to the thread of posting and re-posting on the thread just to rake in more karma. Have some self respect for christs sake!
 
SENDING THE KARMA ISNT A PROBLEM......ITS POSTING ABOUT IT IS WHAT GETS THE THREAD LOCKED.
 
Your daily karma alotment is reset in the middle of the night...not at midnight either...I think it's around 4:00am Eastern. :)
 
maybe it's a rolling 24 hour window after your last karma shot? If I remember, if I do karma at different times during the day, I'm recharged at different times, based on when my karma was given. I've I gave some out at 0800, I've be able to shoot that back 24 hours later. If I also gave out some at 1600, I'd get those shots back 24 hours later.

Actually I don't think so.

You can give out karma again 24 hours after you last gave it.

I know because if I blow my load at 3 pm, I can't give karma again until 3 the next day. If I blow it at 11 am, I can give karma again at 11 the next day.

As far as how sometimes you can give 2 and sometimes you can give 7 or whatever, I think it's because you have given some in the past 24 hours.

Let's say yesterday at 2 pm you weren't in karma whore mode, you were just browsing the boards and you gave out a couple hits of karma. Then this a.m. at 10 you see a karma thread and you start hitting away...you can give out less hits and you're like WTF???

Now the question is, can you start hitting again (but just 2 hits) at 2pm or do you have to wait until 10 am tomorrow to start hitting, at shich point you have full karma again?

I guess what I am asking is, does each hit of karma have its own expiration or does the recharging process only begin again after you have blown your load?

To clarify:

No matter how much K you have and how much each click is worth, you can give out 8 hits per 24 hours? 'cos for some reason I thought as your karma became more valuable you could give less hits because each hit is worth more.

And the second question is, how does the timer work? Is there a set beginning and end time (like 4 am) to each 24 hour period? Or is each click stamped with a time or what?

This should be reduced.
I have a tough time finding 20 posts from distinct people worthy of my karma :D
