The pathologist said steroids may have contibuted to his enlarged heart and liver? Can this be true? Is seems to me that his last 15 years of meth use made his heart weak & enlarged. What do you guys think?

i wouldnt put those words together without all the factors......

i'm sure steriods had absolutely nothing to do with it. i got an idea, give some juice to your kids and grandparents. it'll be good for them.

i thought after years of weightlifting on gear, it can make your heart enlarged, or atleast the left ventricle..but, i'd have to agree, 15 years of meth use is probably what did it. hell, I can't believe that anyone could do it that long and not die sooner from it is beyond me..

I have way to many friends that have been heavy on Meth since 82' back in the day, now many are dead, in prison, insane, but they are many that live perfectly functional lives, run business's, kinda like the good ole boys getting that 12 pack on the way home from work or stopping by cheers..I think it was a combination of way to many drugs a way overactive lifestyle which left the man unable to get decent sleep or rest in years..It all adds up over the years guys. He should of been getting better checkups, bloodwork etc, and took the necessary time off to let his body rest, off the roids, meth and anything else he was on, like Ozzy and Alanis taking their year long trips to Tibet..Seems to work..:) Nice to be back..

I thought a gram of test per week was great for the heart?? WFT??? :worried:

surely the combination of steroids and speed wont help out the heart..
the heart is a muscle... and speed makes it work harder... and with the steorids the heart will get bigger.

i also believe the use of stimulants (efedrine, clen) while on steroids isnt very safe.

didnt we beat this to death when it happened...he had a checkered past and im sure that played a part, will we ever know exactly what caused it OF COURSE NOT unless your close friends of the family or family....so stop the speculation and let a good bro rest in peace already......

Hey, I LOVED Eddie, He was my favorite guy. I just don't think that roids had anything to do with his death......like the patholigist is saying. I think that he had a lot of heavy drug use it the past that made his 38 year young heart give out. I which the MAN was still here with us. He was an inspiration to us all Bro.

When I went thru a small meth phase in my life, I remembered what people used to tell me about the drug. Meth really does stress your heart out to know end, and what a lot people don't realize, is that meth actually creates little pin holes in the hearts wall. If it gets real bad..well..but that's why a lot of people usually have heart attacks or strokes from this kind of high blood pressure stress. Also, I had a good friend who basically went insane - hearing voices permantly, etc, and it's pretty sad..oh well..may he rest in peace..

i will never buy that you can live a perfectly functional life on meth. alcohol, maybe, but not meth.

meth is such a nasty drug that you cannot ingest it (whether snortying, smoking, or slamming) without taking several days to recover. you could not think straight if you are running a busines, or have a family, if crashing

i am a so CA boy and meth started out here. gotta admit i did it when in early 20s and even then knew it was bad news. i am in 40s now and have seen what this drug can do to long term users, people i have known for many years. it is scary what has become of them.

you would be surprised I'm in the insurance business and its amazing what the doctors catch in people. Not even normal people, people who have families and run major businesses. People who are worth millions. I'll give you one example, I just wrote a 40 million dollar insurance policy on a guy who is 40 years old and is worth about 50 mil. He got declined because he had weed, coc and meth in his blood. This is a guy who is 40 married with 3 kids. I have many other stories just like that one.

The really rich people are some of the worst. I was at a party a few years back at this doctor's house. He had a platter of coke sitting out for the guests. I'm talking there was so much coke, I was expecting Richard Pryor to show up any minute. At least I know which doctor will never operate on me :)

$40 million dollar life policy? youre not exaggerating a little are you? you must be a big hitter to be writing that kinda business.

just because he had weed, coke, and pot in his blood does not mean he uses it on a day to day basis. if he is THAT successful and rich, he would have been smart enough to know he would have to wait a while for drugs to be out of his bloodstream. good story though!

It may have contributed, but its likely he also was genetically prone to this problems.
At least he excelled in this sport, he might have died from tobacco, without being a star.

Hey guys years of abusing recreational drugs including steroids contributed to his death you dont have to be a Dr. to figure that one out. Less is more esp. with Steroids. Throw into play the pain killers that he was prob. taking for all the bumps and bruises etc. from Professional Wrestling. It's a hard life that is why alot of these guys dont make it past 40.

eh, you can get an enlarged heart and liver from congestive heart failure which can be aggravated by any of the things mentioned plus 100 other things like eating a pound of butterfat and pork every day.

but ultimately, it's congential and it's a pick your poison deal.

there's a reason why the first question they ask when you apply for life insurance is what type of family history you have and how long your grandparents lived and shit.

there's big money on the line and the actuaries have determined that family history is the biggest predictor of life expectancy.

that's why it's the first question.
